EDSBS LIVE: SCANDAAAAL! EDITION
Oh, festiva! Celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima with EDSBS Live tonight as we discuss SCANDAL in college football and at large with our guest, you.
The Four Scandalous Questions for the evening:

Who knew Hester was a Tide fan?
1. What was the worst scandal your school ever had? SMU fans, please feel free to call in.
2. What’s the worst scandal in college football RIGHT NOW? Feel free to slander whomever you like, so long as you are entertaining about it while on the air.
3. What’s the worst scandal you personally have been involved with? We’ll reveal ours on air, so scandalous is it.
4. What’s your favorite scandal? Nick Leeson, Rogue Trader. When you take down a whole bank with a single bet, you’re living to win, man. Leeson now writes books called “Coping With Stress” and plays poker professionally while running an Irish soccer club. Aside from time spent in Singaporean prison and colon cancer…where’s the downside, exactly?
We’ll see you tonight. Listen in with the sidebar or by going here at NowLive.com.

Hester’s a fictional composite of a ‘Bama supporter and a Buckeye fan — she’s wearing an “A,” but it’s scarlet. And Wayne wants you to know it ain’t his baby, man.

Not really me, and not football. But, one month ago USC’s athletic department approached a number of basketball season ticket holders and told us that we had to pony up $3,500 per seat to guarantee they wouldn’t bump us from our seats. The open house in which we were to donate our money and select our seats took place last week… just a few days before the OJ Mayo story broke.
My theory is that the athletic dept knows that it’s in deep shit and wanted to cash in before 1) the basketball team loses scholarships and 2) the fans realize the team’s going to suck this year. Knowing this, they tried to hurry their season ticket holders into dropping $3,500 per seat in order to keep their seats. Mind you that I already donate $3,000 annually for the right to buy those seats.
Anyhow, something smells a rotten in the state of Troy. Throw this story on top of Reggiegate and you’ve got an athletic department that lacks control of it’s playas.

1. The Bobby Williams years were a riot. Players picking up felonies left and right, a QB on coke, a WR on dope, and other offenses I’m sure existed. Just use your imagination.
2. Apparently USC has a payroll for its players. Even if you look into it NCAA, it’s alright, because Pete Carroll wants you to know that you’re just doing your job, and still loves each and every one of you. No matter what.
3. My high school XC girls’ coach was accused of giving his athletes performance enhancers, such as Vitamin C and Sudafed (which, if you know anything about Sudafed, is actually detrimental to a XC runner). This eventually led to two of my track coaches quitting, a front page article in the newspaper of the 2nd biggest city in Michigan, and said XC coach eventually resigned.
4. Teapot Dome, forever and ever. William McKinley, we miss you.

1. What was the worst scandal your school ever had?
Text-gate. Jesus, what a clusterfrick of program embarrassment; its been worse than the 3 different scholarship penalty events in the past 30 years.
2. What’s the worst scandal in college football RIGHT NOW?
Ohio State as a serious national power- I mean really, when your signature wins are Michigan yearly, and a MNC win over Miami the better part of a decade ago, why are you held up to take a beating against better teams repeatedly?
If OSU plays for a title again this year, Delaney has nudes of everyone involved in the BCS formula.
3. What’s the worst scandal you personally have been involved with?
False-alarm impregnation of a pair of girls, who happened to be each other’s sisters- and their daddy owned a gun shop. Not fun times.
4. What’s your favorite scandal?
The ‘Murder’ of Pope John Paul I. Lots of good tin-foil hatters out there on that one- and it takes a lot to make the Truthers look crazy, but they do a good job of it.

3. What’s the worst scandal you personally have been involved with? Getting throw out of a strip joint with Neil Rackers and his holder Pope when they played for the Bengals, ol’ Rackers thought the chick was fat so he place about 50 cents in change on the floor, which got us kicked out since change on the dance floor is a occupational hazard that the fat ho could slip on it and fall off stage…
4. What’s your favorite scandal? High gas prices….and foreclosures……The price of oil and how we get to hear how the oil companies are raking in “record profits” and they play it off like “Dude, my bad, we just made $30 billion dollars last quarter, so sorry bout that last tank of gas, we’ll get it fixed….”

The folks of Oklahoma named an award after a Drunk, Olympic Cheater, National Disgrace, Wife Beater, who was stripped of his medals, and died friendless, peniless, and alone in a trailer and was burried in an unmarked grave without his medals.
2. Having a semi-retired lettuce farmer steal the 2002 National Title in what is known as the Worst call in the History of Sports. The called ended a 34 game winning streak, an undefeated coaching record, and a title defense.

Also, not sure about your defnition of “now” but you must have been serving a nickle in chino if your biggest scandal happening “now” is a pass interference call from 6 years ago. If you are a Miami fan, I am sorry that the 2002 game sent “the U” into a impressive downward spiral; however, the call, while actually holding (same enforcement in the situation) wasn’t exactly a scandal.

1. Not the biggest, but most hilarious. Our men’s basketball team was involved in a calling-card scandal in 1991. Several players ran up thousands of dollars in long-distance charges on an asst. coach’s calling card (remember those?). The NCAA investigation was fairly open-and-shut, since the players involved used the illegal card from their OWN phones in their apartments and dorm rooms. Academic all-Americans, they were not.
2. The fact that Ron Franklin isn’t calling the national title game.
3. Mostly standard campus drunken shennanigans.
4. Marshall’s Jobs-for-Mops scandal a few years back, when the ensuing NCAA investigation revealed boosters ghost-payrolling players $25/hour for “janitor” jobs and that Marshall had taken *65* Prop 48s over the previous four years.

Thank god some Ohio State fan made a Youtube video to clear up the controversy. Being cheated out of a national championship might have been real uncomfortable otherwise.
Im over it; Coker is a piece of shit and we didnt deserve to win, but having OSU fans offer a home made youtube video as some sort of validation chaps my ass.
As for Ed Reed/Roy Williams, that I won’t ever get over. Who cares that Miami had a better team, the award is supposed to go to the best defensive back in the country. Roy Williams is a glorified cover linebacker who has since been exposed, and everyone outside of Oklahoma is aware of this.
The BIGGER injustice, however, was that Sean Taylor lost the award to Derrick Strait two years later. Sean had 10 interceptions, 3 touchdowns, 77 tackles, shut down Larry Fitzgerald and haunts Chris Rix’s nightmares to this day. Derrick Strait had 80 tackles, 3 Interceptions. What a joke that award is.
