WILLIE WILLIAMS EATS THE EVIDENCE, BOOTED FROM CARDS
The Louisville Cardinals defense has played much of 2007 in a vague fog. Now we become aware that one member has been playing it in a very specific type of fog: marijuana smoke. And no, it’s not just any member of the defense-it’s Willie Williams, the troubled blue-chip recruit who was arrested at least ten times during high school, bragged of receiving fishy benefits in a recruiting diary in the Miami Herald, sprayed strangers with a fire extinguisher during his visit to the University of Florida, was under investigation at one point for “hugging a woman against her will,” had the president of the University of Miami excusing his admission in the press, bombed out of Miami when he couldn’t crack the starting lineup, and finally ended up in Louisville for his umpteenth chance.
And on cue-POOF!-it all goes up in smoke again as the bell tolls BONG, BONG, BONG for him again with an arrest for marijuana possession and eating the evidence on the scene.
About 9:40 p.m. yesterday, a police cruiser pulled behind Williams on West Broadway and attempted to pull him over, according to a police report. Williams failed to pull over for several blocks until he stopped at Second and Broadway, where an officer found him chewing on marijuana, according to the report.
Williams has been dismissed from the team, and could face up to five years in jail for the combo charges.

Not to worry, he will always have a home at FSU, apparently you can break the law and still remain on the team in Tallahassee…as long as you get arrested the week before a big game…

Nah… He’s going to end up at USF on a hardship waiver.

4-he did cross paths with Fulmer. Their relationship took a turn for the worse when Phil demanded that *HE* be the one who ate the weed.

One of his coaches apparently told him to “relax, and let the game slow down.”
I guess he was taking the most direct route to accomplishing that.

Shocker. Not that Louisville recruits such fine upstanding citizens, but that he actually got kicked off the team. In fact, it’s downright amazing.

In a perfect does of serendipity, Tom Jurich, the Louisville AD who gave his personal blessing to Willie’s transfer in, is the rumored odds-on-favorite to become the next AD of . . . Florida State University.

Gerry Dorsey: doesn’t matter if he was chewing it or not, KY prolly has some shitty “consumption” law where it counts as possession. Couple that with the BS informed consent to test your ass for anything under the sun, and you get the same result (of course, it prolongs the inevitable…but at least he has a fighting chance if he chews it down first.).
Remember kids…NEVER carry more than you can inconspicuously swallow in the event 5.0 pops the cherry on your ass.

Orson,
Just curious, what would the fulmer cup award for actually trying to eat Marijuana?
For some reason I keep thinking of that scene from Super Troopers.

Is there some diary where we can bask the marvel that was his D-1A courtship?

Actually , his next stop could be off the mainland and at Hawaii-where the weed is good and nobody cares, just ask Colt Brennan . Its kinda like the Alcatraz for trouble D-1 athletes, but with a Samoan flair. And he could be the only real defensive player Hawaiis ever had.

Uh, catfaninDC, not to be dick or anything, but didn’t steve johnson get booked for resisting arrest and outstanding warrants a couple weeks before the season? he seems to be in fine form on the field.
still, as a card fan, i’m thinking of my power animal in my cave of serenity while consuming massive quantities of bourbon. it can’t get worse, right?

It’s really depressing that the Miami Hearald has removed Willie’s recruiting diary from their website archives. I can’t even find it on . The prose of Mr. Williams was quite possibly the best insight into the mind of a legitimate sociopath i’ve ever read.
Also now waiting for the Willie Williams/Pacman Jones tag-team combo in TNA.

If Williams follows in the footsteps of his namesake from the Miami Dolphins (Ricky), he’s camp for a year in SE Asia, study herbal healing on the west coast, try to get back into college football and end up playing in Canada. A suitable career track if ever there was one.

Steve Johnson did get pulled over (ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL) and did get charged with resisting arrest (CAUSE HE WAS GOING TO THE HOSPITAL). The charges have been dropped, Lexington Police have apologized, and I am about 82.5% sure the officer got suspended.
That said, Johnson is a large black guy with dreads, so it is pretty obvious he needs to be off the streets and is not all that different from Willie Williams who is a maniac and probably legally retarded.
