The 2019 EDSBS Charity Bowl is rolling. Read about the basic premise here. Donate here.

[stares blankly in wonderment and awe]

WHAT HAVE YOU PEOPLE DONE

That’s the top ten in the standings for the EDSBS Charity Bowl as of 9 a.m. this morning. The grand total on the dawn of day five: $128,143.08.

To put this in perspective: That is well beyond the goal of $75k going into this year’s drive, and miles past the $100k fever dream stretch goal we thought we could not hit. That is not just more than we have ever raised before in a year. Counting back all the way to 2008 when the first version of this fundraiser started, that is more than the rest of the EDSBS Charity Bowls have raised combined.

We have a special event coming up this afternoon to finish strong for the week. ISSA SECRET but we’ll let you know when it, like lightning or a sudden streetfight, strikes all of us at once.

The Charity Bowl ends Saturday at midnight. In the meantime, there will be no stopping here. Today’s donation from us is made in honor of a Florida great who later went on to show the world American greatness one bloodied forehead at a time:

She wore the number 28, had 24 game-winning goals in her career at the University of Florida, and led the United States to a World Cup and Olympic gold while taking every foot, head, and elbow thrown at her noggin with a smile. Abby Wambach, absolutely legendary Gator, is today’s donation inspiration.

Two last things:

  1. We are floored, stunned, and utterly grateful for y’all supporting the work New American Pathways does to help refugees start their new lives here in the United States.
  2. There’s time on the clock. Score points.
