Recently, some students at the University of Michigan attempted to supplement "The Victors" by proposing that a second song be commissioned for use at Wolverine sporting events. This was a bad idea, and has been bludgeoned to death accordingly. But the impulse to update the musical elements of college sports is not altogether without merit. So we arranged for our close friend, musical superstar Billy Joel, to come up with something Oklahoma can use instead of playing "Boomer Sooner" six hundred times a game.

"Oklahoma Song," by Billy Joel
You and I
Are here to watch a football game
It's the only reason
That we came
Today
And the football team
We came to see
Represents the University
of
Oooooklahoma
Ooooooooklahoma
Oooooooklahoma
It's a state
But the football game
Is happening right now
We're members of the crowd
The team can hear us sing this
Very loud
We may not be
In love next year
This is a metaphor my dear
Suggesting that life changes
Frequently
Yet the one thing that
Won't change at all
Our favorite team
That plays football
Is Oooooklahoma
Ooooooooklahoma
Oooooooklahoma
Oklahoma is still on
Central time
