So I'm helping a grad student do research for their dissertation, which involves looking through 1940s editions of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. As you can probably imagine, this is not a fun experience. Luckily, the newspapers of the 1940s were full of cool things, and by cool things I mean liquor ads, and by liquor I mean bourbon.
I misread "Blends by Schenly" became "Blends by Schnelly" and then I thought of the post about coach's books and then everything got going.
