Garth Brooks will be the first ever artist to play a concert at Notre Dame Stadium. A disclosure will be made before we get any further: Garth Brooks was the best live show we ever saw, and probably will ever see. He climbed ladders into the lighting rigs while singing “Ain’t Going (Till The Sun Comes Up)” and didn’t miss a note. He sang “Shameless” and had women in the front row grabbing his fat kid calves — this, despite being a fat man in jeans too small for his big ass singing a song by someone who might be the opposite of sex, Billy Joel. He hit the high notes on “Callin’ Baton Rouge” and LSU scored a touchdown at that exact moment whether it was football season or not.
Did he do the secret bonus verse on “Friends in Low Places?” WITH ALL HIS BIG OL’ OKIE HEART, Y’ALL.
So: The default state of this website historically being “Notre Dame is bad, and should be mocked at every turn for merely existing,” this therefore puts us in a bind. If you’re a Notre Dame fan, stop reading here:
“It’s cool that Notre Dame is having Garth Brooks play a concert. Way to go, y’all.”
