We had to review the whole week, which took a while because my goodness, college football has no idea how to unbinge its schedule. This sport eats like a bear: nothing for a long time, and then it finds a dumpster or an unoccupied cabin and goes to town until it can’t move for a few days.
It’s Big Boy Season, is what we’re saying, and even college football is acting accordingly.
It’s also appropriate that of all the massive games on the schedule this week, ¡El Assico! ended up being arguably the most compelling, thrilling, and evenly matched fight on the card. We had to address this on the podcast, because ¡El Assico! is a mocking term given the history of both teams playing down to the lowest common denominator. Solution! We decide that the term has to mean the great kind of ass when it’s good, and the bad kind of ass when it reverts to true 19-12 form next year. You say the good kind like this: “El AYYYYYSE-ico.”
