First, a note: I don't much care for recruiting. It's super important for having a good college football team, but keeping up with the daily ins and outs of teenagers is not fun and no one should find it so.
That said, sometimes the recruiting game gives us fleeting moments of joy. Something quick, simple, and lets us bray like jackasses. Like Thursday, when blue-chip quarterback Jawon Pass picked Louisville over Alabama in your classic hat game fakeout.
Hang on. Hannnnggggggg on. This is good.
Wait for it. Waaaaaiiiiiit forrrr ittttttt.
His smile is our smile.
[steps outside for cigarette]
I have picked up healthy glow just from watching this. If this was the 1880s, I would mix this moment with whiskey and some herbs from the garden and sell it as a patent medicine to ranchers and townsfolk. Except instead of them getting pissed off that it doesn't do anything except make them drunk and smell worse, it would give them impressive vitality and unrelenting vigor! Balance your humors by experiencing Alabama getting dunked on, kind and strong people of the American West! Step right up and experience the mysterious secrets and knowledge of the Orient, and also a quarterback that can preserve plays with his legs while throwing his receivers open*!
*I mean, maybe. I've never seen him play, but then again neither have you.
