I don't know what you'e doing, Mark Richt. Well, besides eating squirrel. But I don't know what he's doing. There's great unrest in Athens, calls for his job are louder than ever, and Mark Richt is out here having a lovely (potentially, anyway) meal of squirrel meats. The clamor and din of the world has been momentarily shut out, and the focus is on enjoying the 2.3 oz. bounty this squirrel has given so graciously. They say Barry Bonds' ability to compartmentalize was his greatest asset, and I would suggest Richt is on that level as well.

GOOD NEWS. Whatever has Denzel Nkemdiche in the hospital, it is not life threatening.

GET MONEY. Houston, knowing full well they've got walked into one of the biggest heaters in recent college football history, have offered to more than double Tom Herman's salary to $3 million a year, and maybe even higher. $3 million a year would make Herman the highest paid Group of Five coach, by almost a million dollars a year, and put him squarely in the middle of the pack in terms of Power Five coaches.

Herman's still only 40. His career looks like it has a long way to go, and it should mostly be good. I'm not sure he'll ever do better than making Steele Jantz look like a real quarterback, though.

CONFIRMED, BASICALLY. Dabo Swinney will be taking over for Nick Saban* at Alabama once Nick takes the Texas job** this offseason. That sentence was a recording. Mama called, and it's time to go home.

SEARCH YOUR HEART. You want an SEC-Big Ten Challenge in football. Or an SEC-Big 12 Challenge. Or Literally Any Conference Vs. Any Other Conference Challenge. I know there's a lot of tradition behind the SEC-SoCon Showdown, but eventually we must all put down our childish things and play Purdue like an adult.
