THE MORNING CONSTITUTIONAL EXAMINES ALABAMA'S PROSPECTS

IT'S REALLY THE SECOND AND THIRD LEVEL THAT MATTERS

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

Alabama's released an updated depth chart, and it's got a number of interesting wrinkles and features you might not expect, even from a team needing to replaced long-established starters. The starting quarterback slot has three names in it separated by commas, but it's unclear if we're supposed to read anything into the order in which they are presented. The secondary has a number of names that you might not initially recognize; query if this is a move by the coaches to motivate the rest of that part of the roster to improve their level of effort and output. And then there's running back, where, well, you'll really just have to read it for yourself.

It's something.
