THE BOOK OF FOOTBALL REVELATION

And so the angel spake unto the assembled masses, saying
"Beware, I tell you, for it shall come to pass
In a land deemed florid, but without flowery beauty
Amidst a great bent circle, choked with dust and ash
Upon a spot of earth, damn'd for all eternity"

"The skin of swine will be taken up
Or, if this be in a certain era
A suitably similar object of synthetic material
This skin will be thrown aloft
As if to pierce the veil of heav'n itself"

"Terrible shall be the shrieks of those who watch
This evil ritual, their bodies reeking
Of intoxicants and smoked flesh.
Tigers, Badgers, Horned Frogs, Toppers of Hills
The menagerie of Hell, invited to this twisted ceremony."

"On this field, you will see seven points scored.
Seven flags will fly
For seven starts most false
Seven scribes will pen
Seven takes, each hotter than the last."

When the angel was finished, the crowd grew restless.
"Mercy!" they cried,
"You must tell us where this horrific act
of cruelty and violence will occur
That we might burn that accurs'd city
And be saved!"

The sky darkened, and the wind raged.
And the angel said but one word more
To his terrified audience:
"DAYTONA."
