OPEN THREAD, THIRD SHIFT

JUST END IT

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Coaching is hard. Let's not pretend that it isn't. It requires a variety of skills and talents, a lot of hard work, and some luck. That last one has not been particularly kind to Will Muschamp this season, and it's impossible to deny the role injury has played in what is the worst year for Florida since 1979. Of course, that was the first year for Charley Pell and an entirely new staff. Not year three.

Ignoring the loss of starters in judging the 2013 Gators is incredibly stupid. So is pinning everything on those losses, because it absolves the coaching/recruiting/talent development of any responsibility whatsoever. Florida won the turnover battle, benefitted from two missed extra points, and was barely penalized. Still lost. At home. To an FCS team that gave up nearly 500 passing yards to Samford.

That shit would get you fired at Kentucky.
