Freshman abuse at USC! Pete Carroll won’t tolerate it. That’s all a prank on Ryan Perriloux, terrorist hunter, is to be honored along with the rest of the LSU Tigers when they visit the White House in honor of their BCS title game. President Bush will…there’s not even a joke here we can make. In lieu of rational thought, we will just say that we hope RP takes offense to something, sets fire to a set of drapes, and is then appointed Czar of the War on Terrorism, a war he will prosecute by harassing every Arab-American waitron and barkeep in America. And now, a picture of Al Davis shaking hands with Darth Vader.
You don’t dump Fresno State without feeling the burn, dude. Fresno State quarterback Tom Brandstadter thinks you’re skurred, Ron Prince, after dumping Fresno State from K-State’s schedule for 2008. “They’re probably tired of getting whooped by us,” said Brandstater, who led Fresno State to a 45-29 win against Kansas State last season. The Bulldogs also beat the Wildcats 45-21 in 2004. “I don’t blame them. “So, I wish them the best. We got the better of them two times in a row.” Pat Hill’s mustache is taunting you as we speak, Ron Prince. It’s also drinking a beer and riding a Harley across the nation trying to find itself and the wild spirit of the highway, man. Man, what a hose that kid has. Tommy Bowden’s not the only guy capable of making slightly awkward comments about his players. Thunderlegged freshman kicker Caleb Sturgis gets a profile piece in the Alligator, and in the course of detailing just what a massive leg the dude has this quote dropped in there. “Oh my gosh, does he have a hose,” Meyer said. “He’s got a bomb. It sounds the way it’s supposed to when it hits his foot.” Analyst? Apologies. The job description read “Cheerleader.” Peter Tom Willis, radio color guy for FSU broadcasts, is out after two years of being “too critical,” in his own estimation, of Florida State’s slide into mediocrity. “I don’t know how you say things are going good when they are not.” You just do! Even if they’re not true. That’s what a color analyst for Florida has to do, especially one looking at the offense. You know we’re smiling as we type this, right? And holding sparklers and champagne? |

The walk-on from Harvard and the redshirt must be truly awful..these quotes from that article are amazing..
1) He said Perrilloux is serving a “pretty serious punishment - public scrutiny and not being with his
team.”
2) Miles said it is a pretty severe punishment if “the guy who should well be taking every snap at quarterback for the first team’s sitting on the sidelines watching and not being able to compete.”
He said “the team will not pay that price.”

Griffin will be a sophomore next season. Meyer is a freshman that graduated early from high school this past December.

Peter Tom will always hold a special place in my heart for coming off the bench to replace an injured Chip Ferguson when FSU came to South Carolina in 1988.
South Carolina was something like 6-1, with their only loss coming to a Tech squad that was something like 1-5 with a win over VMI or Western Carolina or whomever, and it was Saturday night on ESPN and…
Florida State 59
South Carolina 0
Naturally, South Carolina fell to Clemson and then to Indiana in the Liberty Bowl to end their season. Bowl victories still had not made it to Columbia as of 1989.
Fair thee well, PT Willis.
Wasn’t he on some version of Tecmo Bowl, too?

So after Monday I anticipate the top of the Fulmer Cup scoreboard to read:
Louisiana State (infinity symbol)
After all, how do you score an international incident? One can only hope there is a delegation at the White House that day from the Middle East. Or better yet, from India and the RP mistakes them as terrorists.

Sure, why not? Same amount of moral equivilency by the coaching staffs. That NLU loss still hurts doesn’t it…
If it makes you feel any better, karma will get LSU this season.

besides my school being made a laughingstock by an idiot savant qb and a Futurama brain slug in the form of a too-small white hat, I wonder what my man Phil Steele is up to. Are you out there man? Working hard? I look forward to your work. Miss you!

I was listening to P.T. Willis and Gene Deckerhoff call the 2002 FSU-Miami game (the year Miami was absolutely unbeatable…yes, I know, tOSU fans) and he was totally going off on FSU’s coaching staff’s decision to settle for a Xavier Beitia 43-yd field goal attempt instead of trying to get him closer (they had something like 40 seconds left).
P.T. was totally right. He should replace Bowden.

i just hope rp lets the president know that, as the $60 million man, mother fuckers, he’s probably the greatest weapon we have against terrorism
and OS, it might be time to think of having a RP specific catagory…
as to peter tom, that’s too bad - he should’ve used the bob barry (OU radio man since 1914) approach to calling games: if the team sucks (see: 1990s), ignore the game and instead keep repeating “remember when switzer was here folks? remember the wishbone? boy, that wishbone was something special…and the boz? what a crazy haircut that guy had! oh…and syracuse has just scored again…”

Coop - was that the FSU-Cocks game that Neon had 2 pick-6 from Todd Ellis? First offensive play of the game of I remember from what I heard, Todd throws a floater that Deon reached up in low earth orbit and just tipped off his fingers. He started yelling over to the sidelines at USC coach, Joe Morrison, “JoeMo, JoeMo” Morrison ignored him, “JoeMo!!!” Finally Morrison looks at him, Deon shouts, “You run that shit again and that’s 6 for the ‘Noles baby.”

my boss has a great quote that should make PT Willis feel better: “You can’t polish a turd.” At least he was a mediocre arena football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Storm.
If anyone caught the radio guys for the Miami Dolphins this past season, it sounded like they were pulling a Bob Uecker from “Major League” with a bottle of uncle Jack just to make it through all 4 quarters.

Yeah, OOC, I think so.
1988 was also the year of the Puntrooskie and the camera staying on Danny Ford, and his jaw that was on the ground with the chaw rolling out of it, after the play.
Both Deion Sanders, who returned a punt for a TD in that game, and Leroy Butler, who ran the Puntrooskie, can burn in Hell for their exploits in that game.
How Miami beat FSU in ‘87, and then embarrassed FSU in the manner they did in ‘88, I will never know.
I miss FSU being relevant in football. John Swofford does, too.
Tommy Bowden…
not so much.

Not an LSU fan, I was just commenting on those people on this blog and other message boards who keep expressing their increasing indignanation over RP and the fact that Les Miles hasn’t booted him off the team.
To paraphrase Mike Damone, I don’t care if he comes, stays, lays or prays. My toes are still tapping. I just find it funny (and somewhat entertaining) that people get so worked up over him…
Fight on!

PT Willis getting fired for being too critical isn’t that surprising, given how defensive the leaders of Seminole Nation are being about Bowden these days. Being critical of Bobby in any capacity will get you insta-banned from WarChant.com’s online forums.

Warchant has always been gestapo-like with dissent, and not just about Bowden. Reading that board during the Adrian McPherson debacle was pure entertainment.
And it just warms my heart when they write of moral victories in keeping it close with Florida.
