In order to attract the eye of someone who was a totally dedicated SEC fan at the time, you know he had to be a freak-show hitter of a safety to earn notice all the way from the distant, exotic Pac-10. He was--when Mitchell Freedman hit people sweat rocketed off their foreheads in neat impact rings. Some players just appear to enjoy hitting people on the field; Freedman looked like the sort of player who played football because he was a violent person.
We might just be saying that with 20/20 hindsight, though, since Freedman was just found guilty of:
of 15 counts, including five counts of sexual assault, four counts of sexual abuse, kidnapping, aggravated assault and armed robbery. He could face more than 100 years in prison for the sexual assault charges alone.
Fright Night's going to jail for a long, long time.(HT: The Wiz. ) Judging from his mug shot, Freedman's not too impressed with the whole situation:
