Watching Cromartie play on Saturdays it has always been apparent that he is a difference maker. The Noles will sorely miss his next season as he is as close to a shut down corner as there is in the college game. While the Noles do have a seemingly endless supply of lanky receivers, a guy at his size and with his speed at corner is not the norm in college nor FSU which usually has corners in the mold of Terrel Buckley. I believe this to be FSU’s most serious loss to date. The Noles are looking real vulnerable against the Canes on opening day.

Editor’s Addition: In experiencing NCAA 2006 for the first time yesterday, my point became even more clear and Cromartie is an “impact player” for the Noles. Well, his impact will not be felt next year.

Poor Nathan Maxcey. One day he’s working for Gary Barnett as a recruiting aide, doing all the things a recruiting aide does…calling moms, arranging flights, helping the other aides carry Barnett aloft in a sedan chair, calling a prostitute 90 times, allegedly in connection with said hooker providing services for young recruits…and eventually this all leads to you , in court, pleading to official misconduct and soliciting a prostitute while your boss skates along unharmed, whistling in the air and shoving his hands in pockets whenever your name is mentioned. A note to aspiring football toadies: think twice before going the extra mile, especially when said coach is know to be slipperier than grease on K-Y jelly, and especially when it involves a hooker and recruits. (Isn’t that what half the sororities are for on campus?)
