Tom Osborne, the two-time national championship winning coach and statewide hero, is forgoing a fourth term in Congress and intends to seek the Republican nomination for governor of Nebraska. This leaves the Cornhuskers with a bit of an internal conflict. One the one hand, he is practically a deity and Nebraskans can't not vote for him. On the other, he's still younger than Paterno and Bowden, and if he were out of a job the Husker Nation can always dream that he might return them to glory. Ah the good old days of Lawrence Phillips.
