JOHNNY SAMPLE DIES AT 67

He wrote one of the best books on the early NFL, "Confessions of a Dirty Ballplayer," and played in "The greatest game ever" for the Colts in 1958, the first overtime game in the history of the pros. He was also a no-namer from Maryland State who made the league despite Otto Graham hating his guts. Oh, and did we mention his interception in Super Bowl 3 helped Namath nail down the upset? Versus Sample's old team? Johnny Sample dies at the age of 67, but not without grabbing death's facemask and holding him all the way down the sideline.
