So Maryland fans really, really want Stefon Diggs to come to College Park. This is news to you for a few reasons. No, recruiting season isn't really done yet, as there are a few stragglers out there like Diggs, a top-flight wide receiver from DC deciding between Ohio State, Florida, and now in a late push, flyer-happy Maryland. It is also news because Maryland football under Randy Edsall has been one long list of toe-stubbing incidents after another, but you don't put MIke Locksley in a recruiting battle over a DC commodity without a tooth-and-nail fight over said item. (Or, more appropriately put, a fistfight.) However it works out, the story will be one of three insane storylines: Florida actually recruiting an offensive playmaker, Ohio State continuing the Urb-rip through recruiting season, or "Maryland has something good happen." In an offseason with jack and shit both phoning in sick, this qualifies as news.
