Iowa draws first blood in the BLI, but is quickly overtaken by Miami on the leaderboard. Simultaneously the most Iowa and Miami thing ever.
On the third day of Christmas, the Iowa City PD will give to Micah Hyde...three angry neighbors, two BLI points and a court date for his public intox charge! He just likes to party, man, and if you want to get in his face then he'll get right back up in yours, brah, cop or otherwise. Hyde is charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts.
Meanwhile, Miami cornerback Thomas Finnie is clearly bored and wishes his life was more like a B-rated action movie. Finnie stole a laptop from a guy in his dorm but, not content merely with the pleasure of a job well done, attempted to ransom the computer back to the victim. Probably not a good idea to set up a time and place to return stolen goods directly to your victim for money, dude. Think about every ransom movie plot you've ever seen: does the handoff ever go well? Does it? No. No it does not. Even the simplest plans fall apart.

So much for plans, Mr. Finnie. Your felony burglary charge plus bonus Snidely Whiplash-level ransom act earns you 4 points in the Bill Lynch Invitational.
