OKLAHOMA'S AUSTIN BOX DEAD AT 22

Writing obits should never have to be a part of this job, but this offseason seems particularly heavy with them. Austin Box, Oklahoma's starting middle linebacker, has died of unknown causes at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Austin Box was 22 years old, and a kid we loved covering, thanks entirely to his hair and penchant for public urination arrests. We mean that with the highest affection. We love the freewheeling ones the best, and Box could freewheel with the best of them. Our condolences to his family, our Oklahoma community, and all of Sooner Nation.
