Update on darthbubba's Dad...

I came down to my hometown today to be with the family as Mom and Dad met with the neurosurgeon to find out the results of his MRI.  Here's the link to my original post about the subject.  Details after the jump...

We met with Dr. Seyed Emadian, widely regarded as one of the best neurologists in the South.  Dr. Emadian showed us images from Dad's MRI from Monday, and did a pretty good job of explaining what we were seeing.  Dad has what is known as a butterfly glioma on the frontal lobes of his brain.  They won't know if it is malignant until after sending samples off for pathology,  Dr. Emadian recommended immediate surgery.

Apparently HCA thinks highly of this doctor and wants to keep him happy, so they dropped millions on a brand new neurosurgery operating room at Harton Hospital stocked with the latest toys.  This is one of only a handful of facilities in the country that has a new 3D imaging technology (stereotactic-something-or-other).  They will take a very detailed MRI, and from that build a 3D model in the computer to get a roadmap on how to remove the tumor.

Surgery is scheduled for sometime after lunch tomorrow, so I'll post updates in the comment thread on here.  All the prayers and kind thoughts are greatly appreciated!
