Yeah, and that pick was based on

the amazing sports acuity of writers who looked at Pitt breaking a new QB, big losses on both lines and a sophomore RB with sparkly frosh numbers versus WVU with two NFL-quality quarkbacks (Devine and Sanders) back for a senior year, 13 returning starters and a five-star sophomore QB who got serious playing time as a backup last year, and then said to themselves “Isn’t Bill Stewart funny-looking? We pick Pitt as champs.”

And I’m wondering why the Irish have stopped playing defense.

3 quarters of defense may have been sufficient…

Purdue has 4th-and-one at the ND six.

ND has a 17 point lead at the beginning of the 4th. I’d rather not have to bet that they can make a 10 point lead stand up.

20-5 is NOT a "ball game"

Mayock, you’re a schmuck. Now, 20-12 is an entirely different situation and with the way Purdue just slashed through the defense, a “ball game” is entirely possible.

Possibilities:

1. Jacksonville State decided they didn’t want to be the “cupcake” anymore.

2. All the NCAA mess this week distracted the team.

3. The football gods are punishing us for getting Masoli back, taking him in the first place, running Snead out of town, what few Southern traditions we have left, take your pick.

For the record, my C-USA alma mater AND my high school team lost this week. If the Rebels lose this one, things don’t bode well for Bama tonight.

Not only would the crowd see a good halftime show thanks to The Sonic Boom of The South, Nutt would immediately be shot on sight right after being fired over the PA system.

If Nutt declines the penalty, they would have won the game.

That was not smart to accept the penalty when it could have resulted in fewer chances. The extra down resulted in a 30 yard TD. It was Les Milesian.
