The Philadelphia Daily New is reporting that the Big East has officially asked defending FCS national champion Villanova to become the conference's ninth FBS football member. University adminstrators are considering the proposal.
This move would help the Big East conference balance its home and away football schedules without requiring another all-sports member. The down-side is that Villanova's current football facilities are below-par for an FBS program.
