Not as good as the 08 euro ad or the 02 world cup ads in my opinion

you mean the 06 ones where he ‘took over’ a tv station or his conspicuous cameo in almost every big nike ad for around a half a decade or longer?

I think those are the ones, and the "beautiful game" stuff...

the one of various players juggling and passing the ball like some of their basketball commercials were pretty impressive too.

yeah, those were the 2006 spots with the slogan joga bonito iirc

It was an interesting foray but on the other hand I liked the ones they had done before that campaign a bit more:

It’s also interesting to see that nike soccer will go out and get name directors to create these ads (the cage one was done by Terry Gilliam, the great one in 2008 was done by Guy Ritchie, and the OP was done by Alejandro González Iñárritu )

That was the great one done in 2008 by guy ritchie

it's true

The ad didn’t feature any turf diving.

BTW is there a button in that game to turf dive? Like R1 + Triangle if you want to just flop on the ground and clutch your knee while writhing in agony?

You don’t have to watch it you know.

OHHH USA! USA, USA USA!

Fuck it – let’s just slam Boddingtons and hope to make it to the knockout stage.

Kind of Funny

They chose Ronaldinho for this commercial and as of yet, he isn’t even on the Brazil squad. They should have chosen Kaka instead.

wait...

Was that the US that ruined England?

by Kevin@LSU 2.0 on May 23, 2010 5:45 PM EDT reply actions

nope, France

American players do get a cameo to gloat in the rooney fantasy of failure while Spanish players get the cameo of being pissed in the other rooney fantasy

Franck Ribery...

… is the guy that intercepts Rooney’s pass.

by vineyarddawg on Jun 3, 2010 6:33 PM EDT up reply actions

… and is also the guy the “homeless Rooney” sees on the billboard from his tenement. (Ribery has his arms stretched out on the billboard with his arms & body painted Blue, White, and Red… the colors of the French flag.)

Come to think of it, that’s the only picture I’ve ever seen of Ribery where he doesn’t look like he was the inspiration for Quasimodo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
