It's not NOT guilty, but it's not guilty: according to KVAL.com, the starting running back for the Ducks will take a plea deal of some sort on Friday. You know why the Ducks are experiencing such astonishingly bad luck? RANDOM PROBABILITY. It has jackshit to do with a coach not caring, or not knowing his players, or with a "thug" (read: black) element on the team, or with the particular house the zodiac is resting in this month. Programs sometimes just randomly spit up years like this, since any given sample of elite D-1 talent is comprised of a pretty homogenous slice of people across programs. <----boring statistical-ish killjoy.

As A) a probabilist and B) a Duck, I approve this message. Thank you sir.

In the interest of full disclosure, charges are on the way for a certain thick-ankled QB of ours.

Yup. (I study probability theory. For a living. Because I make bad choices.)

feels great to be back.

oh come on….what else can people fill in the next 4-5 months of college football purgatory with other than the “Program (du jour) is lacking discipline” articles? you don’t think the sports columnists in Eugene are in hog heaven right now?

Y'all stuck at stats

Actually the answer is “maybe it’s probability, maybe it’s not.” The sample is too low for any statistical significance test to determine conclusively whether it’s variance rearing its head or some novel aspect. Without the ability to make that determination, an assertion that it’s variance or that it’s some other factor doesn’t have support.

If you’re gonna go after BCS guy for logical fallacies then I gotta your brunt assertion as begging the question here. Sorry.

Paid for by the committee to keep Boise State out of the national championship.

Vagueness is truthy and sucky

It leads to the bottle and possibly one’s drug(s) of choice. And I must applaud anything leading to that recourse.

God damn it.

You know it is a bad sign when half of the damn articles on EDSBS are covering your program for all of the wrong reasons!

This off-season officially sucks for FIVE reasons and counting...

I would say Amanda pics are the path to world peace

but the most vestal of virgins would surely cause holy wars far and wide if her visage were leaked outside these hallowed blogs.

The downside for Masoli:

Unlikely to be released prior to trial, since it’s doubtful anyone makes a XXXXL ankle bracelet.

everything is history, eventually.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
