Around SBN: Penn State Recruiting Roundup Is Set For A Big Junior Day

NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL A ROLE MODEL

Leinart

Before we chortle too loudly at this, we must point out that Leinart's speaking appearance will evidently deal with "athletes and philanthropy," not "athletes and abstinence," "athletes and monogamy," or "athletes and keeping one's peen out of Paris Hilton." As the creator of an eponymous foundation dedicated to helping disadvantaged youth, Leinart may well be perfectly suited to speak on matters of charitable giving. Still, if you want to make any cracks about Leinart's record of "giving it all off the field," we're not about to stop you.

Rumor has it that despite recruiting coeds for jacuzzi-and-beer-funnel sessions, Leinart has been unable to persuade Little Matty to come out of hiding ever since the Paris Hilton episode.

Mr. Leinart's giving is to be applauded.

The Mass is to be avoided because I wouldn’t risk the lightning strikes.

Yes, but...

Does Leinart have a website with a Flash intro proclaiming him as a HUMANITARIAN, like his old college mentor? I didn’t think so.

Also, according to the NCAA lawyaz, Michigan and USC are bottomless pits of scum (that’s a technical term, look it up). So I’ll just start this off….MICHIGAN AND USC BOTH GON GET THE DEATH PENALTY AT THE SAME TIME!

Well that has to increase Notre Dame’s chances of a win next season.

Well played.

This off-season officially sucks for FIVE reasons and counting...

Added entertainment

I wonder if the USC Cheer Squad entertainment was mandatory per Leinart’s contract riders.

I wondered about them. I suppose they are all covered up fairly modestly if the religious center tells them to put some pants on.

Why do you think refreshments and entertainment are listed in the same program segment?

Hallucinogenic love drugs, sir. The pagans were taking them. We were trying to fit in.

Also the best part of that picture is all the “Would you accept a drink from this man?” captions you can come up with.

I might play golf with him, but would not enter into a business deal.

MIA?

Where is Mike Garrett? He could give a wonderful talk about arranging affordable housing to needy families of Heisman Trophy Winners.

You’re acting like no-one from your alma mater was ever interesting enough to agents that they were willing to ante up some cash in advance.

They got half the word right...

It’s not philanTHROPY, it’s philanDERING. Much more realistic.

Pyle of List deserves some credit

Hi Doug,

I’m glad you thought the flyer was funny. I did as well when it showed up in my USC email inbox (I work at the university). I used it as material for Pyle of List and sent the link to Scott Wolf, thinking he might give us a link since he likes making fun of Leinart.

http://pyleoflist.com/2010/02/matt-leinart-devout-hedonist/

Instead, he just posted the flyer, not so much as even mentioning that a reader sent it in to him, much less giving a link to our site.

Anyway, just thought I’d give you the full story and see if you enjoyed our original take on it.
