University budget cuts? Let Les Miles take a crack at those, too!
State Sen. Dan Claitor and LSU faculty Monday night implored voters to ask their legislators to support the flagship university and overall higher education funding.
“Apparently people don’t want to get mobilized until there’s smoke and flames shooting out of the roof,” Claitor said. “Clock management is not understood by a lot of folks.”More than $270 million in state funds — including $42 million at the main LSU campus — have been cut from higher education during the past two years because of declining state revenues.
