STARKVILLE DOES HAVE SOMETHING TO DO
Sure, Jameon Lewis probably did go to a strip club on his recruiting trip, but don't blame Mississippi State. You know Dan Mullen would have nothing to do with organizing a strip club visit because it requires sitting still, and Mullen can't even do interviews without climbing on an elliptical machine. Strip clubs are out for Coach Twitchy, so it had to be the players who organized the visit to The Pony, (NSFW!) a Starkville institution getting mostly positive reviews for its updated interiors and quality "service." <---suggestive quotes!
As our simulation above shows, though: it could have been so, so much worse. (HT: Charles.)

shrug every single USF football player I ever knew in school was taken to either the Mons or 2001 during their recruiting trip.

If going to a strip club on a recruiting trip is wrong, then what’s the point of playing varsity sports anyways?
At least Ole Miss uses proffessional sex workers, instead of drafting their student body for the process.
(If I were a recruit I’d go to USC just for the Song Girls in the Kiffin regime)

O, you might want to put a NSFW warning for the link to da scrip club.
Is it lunchtime yet? Hmmm. Clam chowder sounds pretty good.

Recruiting scandals at Mississippi State!!! Hell yeah! We’ve finally turned the page on the Sylvester Croom era.

The Pony isn’t even in Starkville. So the title of the post is misleading.

Jameon’s keyboard seems to be stuck on ALL CAPS ALL THE TIME. Truly a Leavit-worthy level of enhusiasm in that young man

Speaking as someone who’s maybe been there (when it first opened), while the link isn’t safe for work, the actual establishment isn’t safe for lunch.

There is no such thing as bad publicity.

Steve Babik (longtime SUN Network Gator sideline broadcaster) arrested on federal child porn charges. The WCJB site crashed, so the link is broken.
Only one question: Does this count in the Fulmer Cup?

JL @#11…Is that why Steve dyed his hair blond a few years ago? It used to be kinda skeevy, but began to look normal after a few years…but, no, he’s not a player (football player) so he can’t be Florida’s first Fulmer Cup points…give us time…

It is actually in Mayhew Junction, Mississippi, close to where Len-Lew’s was, about 9 miles from town. Probably in the old club across the highway (can’t remember its old name).
In days of yore we had to drive 9 miles for beer & 25 for a mixed drank in Columbus. Starksville had likker stores but no beer or any on premise drankin.

I have never been and I’m not sure this is possible but the Pony website says it is BYOB. All that I have known for 29 years has just been negated by the idea of sitting on my own ice chest in a TT bar.

the byob implies liquor. they charge your for the cokes etc, but they do not serve liquor.
also, the Pony, is a giant metal mustang on it’s back two legs in the front. you catch a nice glimpse going to tupelo.

yoyo, how can you not remember such a superfluous establishment name as “DeWerks LaRey?” (yes, people, I swear to Tebow that was the name of it)

I was there in October. Seen worse, seen better. You can bring a bottle and buy a coke as a mixer.

That must have been long after my stint in the 70s. I only get down about once every year or so.
But a pure classic Starksvegas name for sure.
