That’s a mustache that could mentor Patton. Exemplary choice, O.

Regarding the Lambert item, I couldn’t help but snort at the all-too-typical words attributed to the perpetratrix:

“This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player that I am.”

What could possibly be more indicative of the soccer player she is, than HOW SHE BEHAVES OUT ON THE PITCH? Are she and her PR flack really that moronic? Or do they think we are?

This set me off because I hear this sort of thing all the time from college students—and worse, from their parents. So Johnny earned a bunch of Ds and Fs last term? “That’s not indicative of who he is. He’s a good student, really.” Um, no. No he isn’t. Why would you even try to argue that with Johnny’s transcript right here in front of the both of us? Or is he a wonderful student in every single way…except for those unimportant qualities that might help him to actually pass his classes?

Sorry. Back to your regularly-scheduled moustaches.

3 – Few things make me happier than seeing someone else express the same seething frustration that I feel. Thank you, good sir.

the armistice was signed at 5 am, and was to take effect at 11am.

still, ol pershing sent men to death in between those times for no reason whatsoever. while his career is distinguished, this one blemish makes me sick and is indicative of the officer mentality of the day.

Great article at SBN. To add to my comments over there regarding regional sports specialist Bill Simmons, I wonder if publishing a 700+ page book on basketball isn’t his version of “jumping the shark”? But as you said, if this guy can make it, it give us all hope.
