THE COACH WHO STARED AT GOATS
No, he's not going to eat the goat. But the ever-accurate titles and graphics deserve as much compliment as the fine puppeteering.

The Muppet needs to gain 100 lbs or so to be an authentic representation of Le Plus Gros Cochon.

The guys at HRB have a decided schematic advantage when it comes to muppeteering.
I, for one, am stockpiling the alcohol for Saturday night starting now. The Weis Farewell Tour’s stop in Pittsburgh is going to epic.

Can’t believe they missed an opportunity to feature an actual puppet celeb in their litte vignette.

Weis WILL be bold enough to ask for a contract extension, a pay raise, and a Jazzy power scooter so he can “run” down the sidelines provided the Irish break a play longer than 10 yards or this run-on sentence before its all over in South Bend.

These have taken on a nightmarish, whistling-past-the-graveyard, laugh-to-keep-from-crying quality of late. Not unlike Weis’s tenure, really. Best of all, with that impossibly huge buyout, it’s entirely possible he’s not going anywhere. Meanwhile, Brian Kelly will get a job somewhere that will allow him to torture the Irish for the next decade as ND is saddled with a staff so fucking stupid they didn’t bother writing a new defensive gameplan for Navy figuring, “Fuck it. It worked once before.” Everyday, the laughter turns just a bit more into a scream.

I will only watch ND because it plays CFB and I am a fan of CFB. And they play on TV. I am what Domers call a ‘hater’. I find this Charlie Weis witch hunt disgusting. The man signed a 10 year contract, it should be honored. All I heard at the Fiesta Bowl when ND played tOSU, was how Mr. Weis would use a decided schematic advantage to beat up my Buckeyes. I was glad that Jim Tressel was able to distract Brady Quinn long enough for A.J. Hawk to tackle him so hard that half his uniform rubbed off and his sister ended up wearing it. He seems like a hail fellow well met. The kind of guy that would be a tremendous asset to the ND family. Give him some time to get his guys in the program and then see if he doesn’t stare that goat down.

- - Seems as though Weis had his best wins – and biggest bowl game – with Willingham’s talent.
I think Kelly will leave Cincinnati, but I doubt he’d go to ND – a school he has no connection to (that I’m aware of), and that would be hiring their fourth coach in something like 10 years. Ouch!

I think it shows a lot of character from The Ohio State fans to support their rival’s coaches during their troubling time. When poor Charlie Weis and Rich Rodriguez get dumped on, who is there to stand up for them? tOSU fans! tOSU are such good folk that I’m sure they would even support Lloyd Carr in getting hired back to Michigan if it came to it.
Likewise I think Georgia fans should lay off poor Willie Martinez. He’s a find upstanding man. The coaching thing will work itself out. Please, keep him around longer.

I agree. Ole Mi$$ should never have fired The Orgeron, LSU should still have Gerry DiNardo, Ray Gooof at UGA, Doug Barfield at Aubarn, UF [NAME REDACTED], Sparky Woods at USChikin, Mike Dumbose at Bama, Chuck Amato at NCSU, etc. etc etc.
There is no reason for ND to fire him. LSUfreek demands CW be given a Contract For Life or his material will suffer.

Crabapple @ 8 -
Sometimes the purpose of a contract isn’t so much to define each parties’ duties as much as it is to define the damages a party is entitled to should the other side breach. I have a feeling some of my fellow ND followers would be arguing that this is a case where the latter is appropriate.
Me? I’m still on the fence, thanks for asking.

Me Too Dept:
USC fan here and I agree with the Crabster too, # 8.
Notre Dame gave him a 10-year deal and they should honor it! Yeah! Chazz deserves the five years left, and after that, mayber Junior can take over, like the Meyer kid in the DePaul b-ball team, I think.
But, on a serious matter, theOSU should not be ranked ahead of USC.

Kevin@ LSU @ 15 – Fine, we can pull the switcheroo with Oregon and tOSU, problem solved.
zzgator @ 5 – how do you know about Rod Hull and Emu? Between him and Basil Brush, it’s a miracle that I don’t run screaming every time someone appears with a puppet.

5 to 0 Dept:
LSU Kevin: NO! Check out the top five college football polls:
1. BCS – USC 9, Oregone* 14
2. AP – USC 11, Oregone 14
3. Coaches – USC 10, Oregone 16
4. Harris – USC 10, Oregone 14
5. Legends – USC 10, Oregone 12
So, USC is a solid 10, while the flaming yellow ones are a solid 14. Am I being duplicitous because OhioState should be out of the top 10 too? Nah.
This thang will all settle soon enough. USC does not lose in November, while everyone else begins to choke.
- Oregon misspelled on purpose

@ 10
I’ve read before, somewhere in the blogosphere, that Brian Kelly is hardcore Catholic. If so, I’d think ND would be attractive to him.

Since Johnson never actually crossed the goal, I’m thinking the SC may have won the game with us but didn’t actually outscore us. How many more losses do they have to have before tOSU jumps them in the polls?
Formula – both have horriffic losses to bad/mediocre teams. Other loss to decent team – SC was blown out on the road. tOSU “lost” a close game at home. Enjoy the Holiday Bowl.
