Mmmmmm – marzipan Greg Paulus.

I can’t wait for the in-depth expose on Colt McCoy’s poor first half performance: “How I Overcame My Crippling Depression Over Injury To My Binky Sam Bradford — In Just Four Quarters!: A Photoessay.”

Is Crompton the Delhomme of college football or is Delhomme the Crompton of pro football?

By the way, you know you’re the premier program in college football when you beat Ohio St. at the shoe and fans are like “Meh, I’m not impressed, it’s not one of the better USC teams this year.”

With USC’s yearly romps over the Big 10, SEC and whoever they happen to schedule out of conference they have created ridiculous expectations.

It’s obviously time to just schedule Chattanooga.

And Holly, I’m curious. As Crompton got 5 downs (thanks to what looked like a nice home cooking call) just to get his comeback drive started against UCLA, how many would he have needed to actually get that first down?

7? 10? More?

I thought the catfish was a move up! The other bottom-feeder, Bubba Hagfish simply wasn’t getting the job done. Hard to tackle, yes. But no arm.

After the game, I kept thinking to myself – How did they do that? How were they even in the game against us, much less winning it??? Clausen, Tate, Floyd and Allen all had huge days. Kudos to Mr. Swindle for the prediction that Rich Rod would win and you would have no idea how. The officiating was poor, but I don’t know that I could say it was one-sided.

I hope the boys bounce back from this one – that’s a tough way to lose.

And I’m not looking forward to October 17th anymore either.

Holly, I hope you ran this edition of the magazine past Coop. You know, since he’s the judge of whether you’re funny or not.

Crompton still has a smidgen hope for the future. The Eagles broke Delhomme’s brain today, he’s going to be like Rick Ankiel on the mound if he ever gets into another game.

Holly @#9… that is possibly the best response ever….. I am still laughing…. and I mentioned that at the bar yestered, that Charlies ass, or should I say “midsection” formed some sort of perfect ass all the way around…. HOW!!!!!! Does that happen?

Good weekend for football

Eat a giant turd Jim Bollman. I want to blame Terrel Pryor. I really do. He’s a great athlete, but it is NO QUATERBACK. Put that on the O coaches for not putting a retard in a position to win.

Thank God the defense actually gave them them a chance to win…

and F—- God, Yes F—- You The Almighty, for letting them roll over when they needed it the most.

Maybe God does hate the Bucks? Is he from MI or the SEC? Does Jim Tressel have some deals going on? I don’t know the answers to those deep moral-ish questions.

I do know Tressel is on the hot seat.

I do know that I can’t really care what happens to the Bucks for the rest of the year.

I do know that my heart is broke as bad as when something really serious has happened.

Should I go away mad or just go away?

 F=== YOU TO HELL BUCKEYES!

(There’s your answer).

Holly…
You know I love these mags more than anything but how Dantonio didn’t get a headline or small snapshot on this week’s cover after his I-can’t-fucking-believe-that-just-happened look appeared on his face when CMU did them was awesome

The catfish did fine considering Orgeron was eyeing him and licking his lips on the sidelines the entire game.

my god i love college football season. one hundred cocktails to the maker of the Issue 2 cover. InPrivate browsing, jimi – voodoo child on the headphones, and high, padded cubicle walls to mask stifled laughter make mondays not so bad

Dammit, I missed Dantonio entirely! I was tailgating for all of Saturday and saw about an hour of televised football, total. Got a link?

by Holly on Sep 14, 2009 9:21 AM EDT reply actions

I didn’t notice any particular change in Dantonio’s expression postgame, (the scowl of victory and the scowl of defeat are at least fraternal twins) but I was beating my head on the coffee table so my powers of observation weren’t at their height. At least we play ND this week. Beat them in South Bend and we’ll get some (probably undeserved) credit for Slappy Weiss and his Barnum and Bailey worthy physique.

Define irony, if Tressel had run the ball into the line at the end of the first half, USC wouldn’t have had time to get a tying FG and late, Pryor took a sack that got them out of field goal range. They do either of those and they probably win.

I am a Tennessee fan….and a Carolina Panthers fan. Both can be at least competitive at their respective levels at every position but QB. But because of Delhomme and Crompton my fall is going to be anguish. I had a dream last night that Delhomme and Crompton bred a child who grew up to be the UT QB. I kept telling everyone it was a mistake but no one would listen. I woke up in a cold sweat with a feeling of impending doom. Anguish….

Not that WVU is being discussed at the moment, but I’d like to point out to Holly that the ESPN360 coverage of the WVU-ECU game captured what has to be the MOST PERFECT Bill Stewart facial tic sequence ever captured on film.

I haven’t reviewed the game yet, but I think it was later in the second half and the camera caught him pacing the sideline in full-on grimace mode. I think it went something like squint-grimace-squint-stretch mouth-squint, and lasted about 5-10 seconds. It would make a wonderful Freek animated gif.
