Barry Sanders was amazing. I don’t know if I saw a single one of his college games, but I loved watching him with the Lions.

Hopefully, the Iowa State stadium has since been donated to a local HS program and replaced.

GOAT

@ chg – No doubt, there was like 15 people at that game

Ironically, many of Barrys teammates considered him to be a borderline narcoleptic, and many times they would have to wake him up to go in on special teams or offense, he’d be napping on the bench, they’d wake him up, he’d go in and score, then come back to the sideline and resume his nap. He felt no pressure, just went in, ran his legs off, and napped.
He is one player that could come out of retirement and still have moves to spare.
Also considered a suspect on an attempt on OJ’s life, found here:http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/O.J._Simpson

That is some funny stuff. LOL funny.

How about that stellar QB handing the ball off to Barry? He’s now 41 AND A MAN!!!!

What a shame there aren’t more highlights when he shredded the Chix in the bowl game.

@ 4

I believe you are thinking of Thurman Thomas. Understandable, as SCar got lit up in every bowl game, seemed like they always went to the Gator, getting rolled by Pitt, OSU, and LSU, they played in until ’94.

For a school that never won the Big 8 and was always overshadowed by Oklahoma, Oklahoma State had some talent, at least offensively, in the 80s.

Lindsey Scott was #21, you know.

I guess that’s a little too much to ask. I know I will be nowhere near this site on day 15 (or 7, for that matter)

Where’s the damn “I am a dumbass” button?

He was #24. And was LindsAy. I swear I’m a real UGA fan….

I must confess, on the few occasions in that video he was tackled before the goal line, I felt profound disappointment. Wow.

Anybody else feel like blowing off work and playing NCAA 10 the rest of the day? No? Just me? Well, so long, suckers!

Someone wake OS up. It’s 10:15AM, do you know where your blooger is?

Buddy, I also find it hard to work these days. I think it’s something deeper than the pending apocalypse otherwise known at CFB ’09… that the upcoming season is just a catalyst for a deeper malaise towards productive behavior. In any case…

Yes, the Big 8 junior varsity has strutted out a couple of quality players. Hey, has Zach practiced lately?

damn TV was low def back in the 80’s.

And the next time Sanders beats OU, it’ll be the first time.

by Soonertruth on Aug 14, 2009 11:46 AM EDT reply actions

Ahem, we all know Barry was great, but, this is still a “Gator” (mostly) blog. Where the hell are the Fred Taylor #21 videos? Come on Orson.

I think the ultimate Bill Brasky would have to be – “Bill Brasky once talked Barry Sanders … in the open field!” Some people find their niche – Learned Hand and the law; Bar Rafeli and bikinis; Lance Armstrong and masochism. Barry Sanders was born to play football. He must have 16 ball bearings in his ankles.

meant “tackled.” ps. fuck today. I am self employed and have just declared it miller time. See you fellas in a couple of hours.

Man, waaay too much of those highlights were against Kansas. Mock the fat man all you want, but never forget what a sick, cruel joke that program was before he got there.

/5-0 in the North this year. Bam.
