Soldier probably misread Winston Churchill’s speech, i.e., “We shall fight them in our britches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets…”
I spent considerable time in the Swat valley in 1993-4, after finishing a Fulbright. . . . Idyllic green river valleys does not begin to describe the natural beauty of the area, and I will always be impressed and grateful for the hospitality I received from the loal people.
Particularly on this Memorial Day, I offer thanks and prayers for our troops and all who support them.
The soldier was racked out and only had time to get his helmet and battle-rattle on when he ran to his position to suppress an attack. Achieving a level of concealment was his smallest concern.
It also looks like his fellow soldier is holding a Barrett .50 cal., so with him and his spotter reaching out and touching folks..I don’t think he is too concerned about being a “bullseye”.
Clearly that soldier is too young to have been a fan of the original Star Trek series, or he would know that nobody in the landing party wears a red shirt without terrible repercussions. Unless they’re Scotty.
Orson Swindle and Stranko Montana are two men pushing thirty who should know better than to run a college football blog, but evidently don't. Both graduated from the University of Florida, and both agree that college football is far too important to be left to the professionals.
