MUSTACHE WEDNESDAY: MATTHEW WILDER
The Mustache Wednesday Mustache of the Day cannot have-a his stride broken, and had this crazy dream where he went to China to have someone do his laundry and have that thing–my God, whatever that is–removed from his face. Mustache, ho! One-hit wonder Matthew Wilder is our Mustache of the Day

Happy Mustache Wednesday, motherfuckers!
If you wonder whether people who had 80s trouble with their hair ever solved it, the sad answer in Wilder’s case is no. See it in all of its glory, and framed by dancers in extremely regrettable costumes, after the jump.

So many things to enjoy there starting with the backup dancers and their interpretive style. When he sings “run away”, well, thats exactly what they pretend to do. But my absolute favorite thing was the brief intermission provided by our hostess. She does a liesurely version of the white man dance all while having a chat with us.
God Bless the 80’s. I miss them so much!

If he looked like that today, he’d be considered a porn star or a star on “To Catch a Predator”

It’s appropriate I was reminded of that song here. That brings back fuzzy memories of watching highlights of Ken Clark set to that tune on Husker Highlights circa 1987 or thereabouts. Happy mustache Wednesday indeed, motherfuckers.

Any chance Matthew knew he was gay back then?

An 80’s pantomime performance with an out-of-sync voice track to end the day?

Oh dear, this was a favorite song of mine, when I was young and didn’t know what this guy looked like. Now I won’t possibly forget. Thanks….

Somebody’s been watching “Top 100 One Hit Wonders of the 80s” on VH1 Classic (not that there’s anything wrong with that).
