CHAMPAGNE AND REEFER
We won’t argue with Muddy Waters’ formula. Neither did Percy Harvin, according to NFLDraftBible.com.
We just assume everyone from Virginia Beach is perpetually blazed, so no real shock there. The same website is also reporting that Brian Cushing and Clay Matthews tested positive for steroids. These are demonstrably false, as we’ve heard nothing like this over the past four years, especially regarding Cushing.

Iraqi Information Minister says:
There are no steroids in the test results for Brian Cushing! That’s simply NFL Lies. The NFL will be crushed by this superior specimen!

When I saw the quick interview with Cushing on ESPN yesterday when they were talking about USC’s pro-day, I was thinking the guy looked like he was already in his 30s. I guess now I know why.
But of course, there will be no investigation or even thoughts of looking into wrong-doings at USC itself.

Pretty ridiculous that they’re testing for drugs that aren’t performance enchancers. I realize he’s not working for/employed by the NFL yet, but I wonder what this does to his prospects.

Harris says:
It’s shockingly stupid to get high knowing you’ve got a drug test coming up, but since the majority of Americans have tried weed at least once, I can’t imagine anyone but the tightest of tight asses cares. As for steroids, I don’t imagine that’ll make any difference either. Luis Castillo admitted to using steroids before the combine and was still a first round pick.

It’s not like any NFL player has ever caused any team problems because of their use of weed ever.

@Ohiodawg:
Pretty much nothing, like the other three players that tested positive for Marijuana. At worst, it will bump them down a spot or two from a team that considers them a possible Ricky Williams-esque risk, to a team that will consider them a bargain worth the risk. Most teams don’t give a rats ass. It’s just one of the billion and a half things they test for the draft. Most of them are ignored, they’re just tested because somebody, at some point, felt the test would be worth something for somebody. And now it’s done to every player just ’cause it was done last year…

The upside is that the kids inclined to partake are often going to be a hell of a lot easier to get along with as teammates than those (hello Jay Cutler) who obviously should partake a bit more.
Not to mention you’d tend to bring the Bentley much more carefully across the Macarthur Causeway than those inured to the more legal of illicit substances.

Virginia Beach is actually pretty conservative. From what I heard about Percy in his high school days, this doesn’t surprise me at all.
