BARKEVIOUS MINGO NEEDS YOUR HELP
The Republic of Mingovia needs your help, citizen. The Sovereign Lord and Paramount Leader of The Steampunk Republic (and erstwhile LSU linebacker) is up against formidable competition in The Name Of The Year bracket. Inferior competition, yes, but competition nonetheless: a cabbie named Chew Kok, Iona Knipl, and Attila Bucko.

Go support your leader and his majestic epaulets! Help him vanquish his inferiors, even though he obviously does not need your help, for he is MINGO!

Barkevious Mingo can only be described as scrumtrilescent.

the brackets are just effing brutal – first Thornton et al. draw Butler –> UNC (thanks Mike Slive!) then Barkevious draws Chew Kok. The gods are not kind.

I see Captain Munnerlyn was relegated to the NIT tournament of names. He was robbed.

Hi Orson, are you sure you really mean to say ‘erstwhile’? That would mean that Barkevious was an LSU linebacker in the past. Maybe in a previous life?

Too bad Alabama State lost the play-in game last night. The world was denied the pleasure of watching Grlenntys Chief Kickingstallionsims Jr. playing against Louisville on Friday. Doesn’t quite have the Emperor-of-the-Universe quality of Barkevious, but that’s a worthy runner-up at least.

Barkevious is dominating. Cabbie Chew Kok is now Mingo’s personal chauffeur.

I see that Sigsbee Duck, who was the first Deacon mascot, made the 2006 list. As Dr Duck (yes, he’s a MD) graduated from Wake back in the mid 70s, he should be immediately invalidated.
Unless he had the cruelty to name his son Sigsbee IV.
