I’ve always found that argument funny as Tennessee Fans have always done the same thing with Peyton. (i.e. “So! He never beat Florida but… but…. he won a Super Bowl and is an NFL MVP! Where’s Wuerffel at, Huh?!?”)

I would rather Tebow win all he can at UF and do absolutely nothing in the NFL (for a team that I could care less for), than to win absolutely nothing at UF but be a great Player in the NFL (for a team I could care less for.) The NFL sucks.

By the way, how many SEC Title Games did Stafford and Moreno play in while at UGA?

You’ve got to like the continued hypocrisy it shows: The NCAA keeps saying these kids are STUDENT-athletes. At the same time, they allow a rule that treats them exclusively as athletes.

I know the Big 12 forces a two-year-sit when transferring between conference schools.

Tebow is staying another year as a gesture to Matt Stafford and avoiding a quarterback surplus during the first round of the NFL draft. And avoiding the Detroit Lions.

What Shannon did is despicable, I could see barring Marve from transferring to anywhere in the ACC but the SEC or Big East Florida schools? No way what Pete Carroll did is on the same level as that.

These are big boy responsibilities and with that comes consequences. Players often make these choices WITH their parents involvement so its not like they don’t know where all the potential landmines are out there. Shannon is despicable in how he treated Marve but what Carroll did is well within his rights. Hazleton said that he wanted to be closer to home but what if he changed his mind and decided to go to say Cal? Carroll’s move was simply one of protecting his own teams agenda. Dexter Hazelton (Vidal’s dad) has shown more than once that he is capable of trying trying to put the screws Carroll so just to make sure he couldn’t do it again Carroll restricted Vidal’s choices.

It would also appear that you have a bit of a selective memory, its not like Urban Meyer hasn’t used his position to restrict a player from transferring…Florida Lineman James Wilson wanted to transfer to Wake but Meyer wouldn’t let him out of his schollie so that he could try to convince him to stay, Wilson did stay, but by not letting Wilson go when he wanted to Meyer’s move could also be seen as protecting his assets, just like Carroll did.

So what’s the difference? I wouldn’t put what Carroll or Meyer did on the same level of Shannon…not in a million years.
