I don’t understand all the confusion over the naming of the Fulmer Cup. I mean, the Ryder Cup didn’t stop being called the Ryder Cup when Mr. Ryder died, did it?

To change its name now would just lead to a lot of unnecessary confusion— especially to name it after Lane Kiffin, who hasn’t overseen a slew of off-season arrests yet.

Congratulations to Florida. Outstanding win, due in large part to their outstanding defense.

I hoped it was Georgia I was begrudgingly congratulating as national champion, as of August, but the Gators were the best non-SC team in the nation.

Maybe we should have an Ole Miss-Oregon State contest. To borrow from ESPN, the right Reverend Houston Nutt would house Maisel’s “best coach in the nation,” Mike Riley.
