Funny. No Ole Miss/Florida Clips in there. No blocked extra point? No 4th and 1 stand? Odd.

Tonight, all if forgiven. Go Gators.

@ Erik: Guess it didn’t happen then.

I’m just happy that neither Nickleback nor Rascall Flats accompanied the video.

I a) am demonstrably no Florida partisan, and b) will put whatever I damn well please in these contraptions, so bugger off and go read The Big Lead if you don’t like it. Kisses!

Thank you Holly for leaving tOSU lowlights out of this video. Something tells me you will make it up to me later.

This one’s all about the pretty plays. Relax, enjoy, pour some whiskey in your coffee and toast the season.

by Holly on Jan 8, 2009 10:00 AM EST reply actions

Not crying because the season is over…just crying because of the way it went down a greased shitter. At least it ended on an up note with the exposition of Georgia Tech.

Sidenote – LSU 2009 football team sponsored by Raid Backyard Wasp and Flying Insect spray.

Cheers!

Fine work Holly. After seeing some of those late game plays, I thought I might see the UT/OSU end from the Fiesta Bowl just a couple of days ago.

Regardless of how f’ed up the BCS is, the sport of College Football is still top notch.

Nice song choice too (althought I don’t know what it is). It’s much less hokey than One Shining Moment used at the end of March Madness.

by Geaux Irish on Jan 8, 2009 10:09 AM EST reply actions

Phenomenal work, Holly. I’m misty-eyed.

by PB on Jan 8, 2009 10:14 AM EST reply actions

The song is “Grace Under Pressure” by Elbow.

by Orson Swindle on Jan 8, 2009 10:16 AM EST reply actions

No clips of Alabama embarassing Tennessee at home?

by haybeav on Jan 8, 2009 10:31 AM EST reply actions

beautiful song, holly.

I really enjoy EDSBS, not just for the fact that it is the TMZ/Onion/FoxNews of the greatest sport ever, but between holly and O, I have been exposed to music that has made me revert back to my high school “trainspotting” days.

Wonderful season, wonderful work by all.

… stupid music and your power to move… I’m going to go hug my kids.

by vegas_buckeye on Jan 8, 2009 10:31 AM EST reply actions

I, for one, could do without the hipster music choice. This clip is begging for “Winds of Change” by Scorpions.

I’m only half-kidding.

And thank you for not showing the best play of the year, Eric Berry’s 75 yard INT return for a TD against Starksville Ag & Tech, saving us the usual embarrassment.

by yoyofutbawl on Jan 8, 2009 10:52 AM EST reply actions

First “Wall-E,” now this. Thanks, now I’ve nearly teared up at TWO movies this year.

by Doug on Jan 8, 2009 10:59 AM EST reply actions

What, no clips of Utah/Michigan?

Have the kittens gotten to you, Holly?

by Elno Lewis on Jan 8, 2009 11:06 AM EST reply actions

Eerily brilliant mixing the raw athleticism, extreme violence, and guys celebrating like little kids at Chuck E. Cheese’s.

Thank you for allowing me to transitively rationalize the fact that I watched a decent amount of the Ball State-Tulsa game because of this video.

And the drum beat in that song will be the soundtrack in my head for the rest of the week.

Thank you Holly and enjoy your college football digestif tonight all.

Utah deserves its own highlight reel, frankly. This got put together prior to the Sugar Bowl, but that was the best game I’ve seen in years.

by Holly on Jan 8, 2009 11:14 AM EST reply actions

Hey, the season aint over yet, sweetie……I am sure there will be more highlights of Tebow and Harvin after tonight…..and hopefully this game wont look like the Texas/tOSU drudgery we watched the other night…..I dont know which is worse….getting rolled by Utah, or being tOSU beating Texas, about to win the game and have it yanked from under ya in the closing moments…..I was hoping tOSU would win so the Big 12 South could have went 0-fer…..Okie State-DEAD, Texas Tech-DEAD, Neidemeyer- DEAD, Oklahoma-Soon to be laid to rest, yet again……Texas-Escaped at the last moment……

MPP

I can answer that. I would rather to have shown up and lost than to have laid the ostrich egg Bama did and try to slough it off by bashing teams I didn’t play. Good luck in the Fulmer Cup again this year!

by Crabapple Buck on Jan 8, 2009 11:30 AM EST reply actions

Simply beautiful. Fantastic work, H.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I think I have some dust in my eye…

by Texas Gal on Jan 8, 2009 11:40 AM EST reply actions

FUUUUUUUUUCCKKKKK YOU! that’s great Holly.

(Can I recommend Elbow’s One Day LIke This
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hooPU2mdsH4
and & My Morning Jacket’s I’m Amazed
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AzdoOGUsEKg
for 2 more non-obvious choices)

The end of college football season and this fine pieece of editing remind me of the Seuss quote, "Don’t be sad because it’s over. Smile because it happened.

Goddamnit, Holly, I’d blocked out Corvallis from my memory.

Nice job.

Re: #20

The Fulmer Cup is almost upon us. Will it be renamed for a coach actively working (Nieuheisel? Erickson?) or will the trophy keep the original name?

by GeauxIrish on Jan 8, 2009 12:47 PM EST reply actions

#20
I am sure we will meet tOSU in some form or fashion next year, and we will have a decent QB.
We will pass the Fulmer Cup torch to Auburn. With the amount of money it will take to buy players from the Mobile area to compete and some of the past cronies from AU back in the picture, they should be a Fulmer Cup force…..to be reckoned with…..

by Mr. Pelican Pants on Jan 8, 2009 12:52 PM EST reply actions

I saw the clip of Moreno jumping into the end zone against Arizona State and thought, “Oh yeah, Arizona State! They used to be good!”

by JD on Jan 8, 2009 12:56 PM EST reply actions

Geaux – Why rename it? It is the Heisman of hijinks.

MPP – we probably won’t meet next year. Ole Miss may even win the SECW if Snead stays and Nutt doesn’t screw it up. You will be strong again in 2010.

I like our QB too. By next year he may even add the forward pass to his repetoire. Our season will hinge on what happens September 12 when Southern Cal visits Columbus.

Hmph. Needs more Mangino.

As if there could be more.

by Extra P on Jan 8, 2009 3:23 PM EST reply actions

Crabapple,
I was impressed with tOSU…..unfortunately, like Alabamas secondary, couldnt tackle in the open field, allowing a easy score….ours came in the first quarter…..yours came too late to do anything about it….had yall had 2:30 left, I think yall win the game..

by Mr.Pelican Pants on Jan 8, 2009 3:44 PM EST reply actions

Beautifully done.

I still can’t figure out if it’s worse realizing your favorite team isn’t relevant enough to make the clips, or to have to relive their season imploding.

by GamecockTony on Jan 8, 2009 4:06 PM EST reply actions

Now that I’m home, I finally got to see this. Very nice, Holly. Hopefully the last game of the season will live up to the rest of the past four+ months…ending in a Gator victory, of course!

Very fine work Holly

by CincySooner on Jan 8, 2009 7:08 PM EST reply actions

Where was Ole Miss blocking the extra point or stopping Jesus on 4th down?!

This video sucked. A girl must have done it.

by AMAZING!! on Jan 8, 2009 7:43 PM EST reply actions

Love the vid Holly. Sad not to see any of WV’s Pat White…all time leading QB rusher in NCAA history and the only NCAA starting QB to go 4-0 in bowl games. He definitely deserved a few seconds in your 2008 Sweet Season summary.
