I don’t wonder why there are haters in this world, I wonder why they don’t spend their time focusing on liking one team, not bashing others. I feel like I am perpetuating your problem by responding but hey, season is over.

First, really? C’mon, really? Second, I am talking about the team, not the fans. I hate Duke basketball fans, I don’t hate Duke. Besides, chances are OU is heading for a 5th straight BCS loss, including a 55-19 beatdown and priceless fails against Boise St and WVU. I will take 3 BCS losses in a row and 41-14 over that anyday. Mark May has got to be behind this somehow.

Settle down on the USC hype. USC has a good team this year, but they are not number 1. Texas has a much better argument to be number 1 than USC has. I know USC is the defacto pro team in LA, but get off the hype!

USC is one of the most overrated teams ever to play in an all hype conference. The SEC consistently produces some of the nations top teams. Need an example, just look at this bowl season. Sure Alabama & South Carolina feel short, but how many PAC 10 teams were in the top 10…hell in the top 25 compared to the SEC. Is it so difficult for you to give a program its prop when it is due and admit (as did I) when you team of choice suck and was fortunate to squeak by with a win. Someone previously stated it very well, always the brides made and never the bride. OSU is living off of its history and not its recent performances.

I assume someone who hates a program is a fan of their rival. If, as you say, you are just an arbitrary hater then…evaluate your efforts. If you hate OSU so much, quit watching their games. As mentioned above, why not pile on to the disaster that is OU’s recent BCS record? You are drinking the Skip Bayless kool-aid straight from his faucet.

And jauxpa: I don’t give a shit about who’s loss “is better”. I believe I said –wish they were playing–, although your argument of who’s loss is more impressive certainly makes some completely irrelevant points. If they played on a neutral site, SC would be favored. That doesn’t really matter does it, because it won’t happen. BTW, bad play calling and “the only miss all season” is not an excuse for a loss. SC had some bad defensive playcalling against Oregon St….that does not erase their loss.

What amazes me is the amount of crap given to tOSU regarding losing big games when Oklahoma has clearly done worse in recent years and they get a fraction of the crap for it.

Also tOSU gets mocked for losing “the big games” and USC gets mocked for “losing games they should win”. And nearly all the mocking comes from fans of teams that have lost more games than either of them in the last couple of years.

Texas did beat some highly rated teams this year, but the bowl season has clearly proven that the Big 12 south was a total fraud.

We love & hate all teams here…even our own at times. I do not think anyone here is anything more than passionate about their perspective team. When you do well, we will congratulate you…but, still give you shit. When you do bad, we will still give you shit. So, you can always expect some shit here no matter what. Therefore, we still love you…in a shitty sort of way!

Wow. Love EDSBS, and the funny/not-so-serious ribbing that OSU and the Big Ten take here (that every team takes here). Come for a break from the vitriol found on so many other sites. (Admittedly, I don’t usually read the comments.) The last bit of this post leads one to believe that perhaps we OSU fans are welcome to see the door. I hope that’s not the case; would be really disappointing.

You’re right that was only the 4th top ten team Texas has beaten this year. Clearly we suck.

Look we may lower ourselves to the level of our opponents from time to time, but when it comes to bowl games (and especially BCS Bowls) we still find a way to win. THAT’S what defines a champion.

You know kind of like Utah, or Florida, or USC… Basically everyone but oklahoma.

Oh and that mighty Ohio State defenese held Colt McCoy to a meager 414 yards passing – on his worst game of the year. Congrats.

Tressel blew it when he went for the second field goal on 4th and 2 (and missed). When a pre-concussed Beanie is averaging 8 yards a carry and Pryor is so mobile, they could’ve easily picked up the first down and either scored a touchdown or gotten a chip shot field goal. It would be asking a lot for an All Pro kicker in the NFL to connect on two straight 50 plus yarders in a pressure situation, but to ask it of a college kid (albeit 29) is unwise.

Sparrow – you missed my point completely. Everyone can have a bad game. Texas played about as bad as it had all year, with the exception of the first half against Tech… and they still won.

Also consider that OSU had a freshman QB with a month to prepare. That mitigates your “79th ranked offense” comment too.

The point is no one is that good this season. This isn’t 2005.
