Sounds like Boston College is still a little butt hurt over losing TOB to a team in the same conference. BC’s AD said something to the effect of, “I just want to find a coach that wants to be at BC for the long term…” Bad news folks, sometimes you just have to settle for random hookups and a little cuddling now and then. Actually that sounds pretty good.

And on a related note – for a school of allegedly high academic standards you’d think they’d find a way to let the coach go without having to pay the remaining three years on his contract. He’s a free tip – if he quits and goes to the Jets, you save money. If you fire him and he goes to the Jets you get to pay him a few million dollars as a parting gift. Morons.

The Big 12 bowl season struggles are gonna make OU look suspect. I think they still have the players to go against Florida, so this should be a good game. I think both of these defenses will attack, you can’t sit back in a soft zone against either of the offenses…

That article on Malzahn said his offense (Todd Graham’s words) caused Tulsa’s defense to go from 21st nationally to 103rd then 84th.

I’m trying to imagine an Auburn with a top rated offense and a 100 something defense. In this world, Bizzaro Aubie has a creepy goatee and the eagle walks to the fifty before the game. Hello Tuberville. Hello defense. Goodbye Malzahn.

I’m willing to try it but it will be strange.

The unstoppable Big 12 offenses have looked pretty mortal so far – and the Big 12 defenses have taken a pounding. I think Urb and Tebow share a 2nd trophy.

My hatred of Stoops and his propensity to choke recently has me leaning Gators. But a properly motivated OU – if rare – is a force to be feared. Only time will tell if “Big Game” manufactured enough of his patented fictional bulletin-board material to see them through.

CALLING ALL UM, FSU FANS: The Sooners are expected to be at a competitive disadvantage in the Dolphin Stadium stands for Thursday’s game.

While both schools received an equal number of tickets, the Gators figure to have a much larger group of supporters on hand.

So Stoops is looking for help anywhere he can find it.

“I’m calling on all the Hurricane and Seminole fans that are down here to root for us,” said Stoops, who was the Gators’ defensive coordinator under Steve Spurrier from 1996-98. ‘That won’t be hard, I don’t think. There’s another part of South Florida that isn’t for the Gators and we’re hoping to recruit them here this week.”

After what I have witnessed from the Big 12 teams in bowl games this year, my suspicions have been confirmed. Any team offering defensive resistance, is one team more than they have faced all year. Mizzou looked average vs. Northwestern (chew on that for awhile). TT folded like a cheap suit to Ole Miss. Oklahoma St couldn’t handle Oregon and Texas struggled with my Buckeyes. Even Nebraska and Kansas didn’t march up and down the field unimpeded like the regular season.

My discretionary betting dollars are with the Gators and I’ll sacrifice a few unnecessary points.

Stoopsie is asking FSU and da U fans to root for OU since he figures the UF fan base will outnumber the OU fans at the game.

So, we have a former Gator coach asking his former rivals to support him. The enemy of my enemy is my friend?

percy at 90% without getting tackled in practice and saying that it’s still awkward to make cuts is why i think OU has a big lead in the fragile game-breaker department

our fragile running/receiving game breaking threat, demarco murray, was out before he could inevitably get injured against florida, so we didn’t have to worry about him in our game plan – advantage: oklahoma?
