DAY TWO, FUNDRAISING CHARITY TYPE THING: GIVE YOUR SCORE
Be shocked and awed at your own awesomeness, people: EDSBS readers gave over $3,000 to RRISA’s Youth Programs yesterday alone, a superb accomplishment exceeding our wildest expectations. Warm fuzzies all around. Pete Carroll reminds you that you get what you give, angels.
We’ll be going for another two days, and the theme today–if you haven’t donated yet–is to donate your score. The theme came from this conversation we had yesterday with Paedia Mixon, the head of the youth program at RRISA:
Paedia: Is there any significance to the number $31.20?
Us: Um, yup. That’s the score of the SEC Championship game.
Paedia: I KNEW IT!!!
You clever, clever people, you. Alabama fans, give $36.00! Auburn fans, you…well, we suggest you add some zeros to the 3-2 Mississippi State score, or if you like you can rub our noses in it and donate $20.17. ACC fans, you may give the default donation of $24.17, since that is the final score for 60% of all conference scores! Big 12 fans, you may downshift a bit and give a retro score, since $62,51, while generous, may be out of some of your budgets, and we understand that.
Learn more about RRISA’s youth programs here; click here to donate. Be sure that under the “Please indicate the donation type & details” tab you select “Special Events” and then list “EDSBS” in the space immediately following it. Personally, we’re sending in a donation for $49.10 ASAP.
Thank you all. We will keep you posted on the results. Hugs hugs kisses kisses thanks.

Does that mean I can get away with a donation of only $10.49? Ha ha! Foiled by your own hubris!

Brilliant! I’ve been looking for more ways to work 41-10 into my everyday life.
Also, damn you for tricking a poor man into giving away more of his hard earned money. But it’s not like I can stomach a $0.36 donation, can I?

Doug – That would be VERY bad karma! There’s a rule somewhere about the sufferer of a beatdown not being able to profit from it later. Similar to being barred from life insurance proceeds if you killed the policy holder.

I would fully expect one Timmy Tebow to cut a check for 30.31.

Bull Gators and anyone with a degree in Law or Medicine from UF….time to pony up $586.168. We’ll cut you generous souls a little slack and round down to $586.16.
…and while that might be the final score on Jan 8th, it’s more likely the combined scores of the 2008 season.

I’m trying to find out if daddy warbucks (the huuuuge conglomerate I work for) will donate $500 to the organization….but I want to make sure it gets to the youth program at RRISA. Is there a seperate division that the check needs to made out to? Or should I contact the woman heading up the youth program?

So this means we’re only $7000 away from T.Kyle going all Matt Stafford on you with a paintball gun?
And of course by “going all Matt Stafford” I mean his first shot will land somewhere in Snellville, his second will hit some ‘Bama fan in the hands, and his third will hit you squarely in the chest, causing Gary Danielson to weep with joy.

Love this concept. As a UCLA fan, I could reasonably cheap out and donate $13.09, but that would require me to invoke memories of the Dorrell regime. So instead I’m throwing on an Oasis CD and going all the way back to 1997 with a tasty $66.03.

I gave $16.14 in honor of The U’s win over Virginia Tech. It may sound cheapish, but in honor of Miami being the only team to hold Florida under 30 points, I think I get the honor of donating under $30. Plus it’s not like Miami had that many big wins this year…I was kinda screwed on this one.
