I have absolute proof that Urban is going to the NFL.

OMG, Robert Kraft was seen standing on the Gators’ sidelines during a recent game.

That seals it, right, Mike Freeman? What other proof would you possibly need? Other than the facts I mean.

But seriously, will Urban [someday] end up at ND? Probably. Until then, we’ll enjoy his stay at UF. Living in the moment (with a possible NC trophy heading our way) is enough for now.

Meyer to the NFL? Why take the paycut?
Who would pay a college coach who has never played or coached at any level of the NFL $4 million a year?

Meyer to ND would be more plausible. I think he was contacted via backchannel this past month and told them “no thanks”. Which is why Charlie is able to pursue the “New Gold Standard” for another year. Maybe they’ll try again after next year.

Two things about this Freeman clown’s article:

1) How in the hell is pro football’s fanbase “more sophisticated”

2) The writing quality of this article was very, very poor…I mean, it was just a string of unconnected one-liners that never even gave a cogent reason supporting his thesis. He just said he thinks Meyer will go, therefore Meyer will go. Gimme CBS’s number, I can write crap like this but better.

As far as Colt McCoy goin’ out a-shootin: who cares. Yes “shining” is kind of unsportsman-like, and being legal doesn’t make it less so, but it’s not uncommon, so whatever. The more interesting observation is that when Colt McCoy feels wronged or upset with a situation, he doesn’t address it (by watching the game – if OK had lost, he’d be in nat’l championship); instead he seeks escapism through violence – against things weaker than himself, to boot. Nice. Of course, he’s still a kid, maybe he’ll grow out of it.
