DOCTOR TEBOW…
…is in.
Screw your “Heisman.” We shall take the prescription of victory, and it will be enough for all of us, Dr. Tebow included. (HT: Caroline, who rules.)

1. The Tebow = God / Nagurski / greatest player of all time blowjobs that CBS gives us now
or
2. The USC = Perfect / greatest team of all time blowjobs that ESPN gave us in 2004?

For 103…
Love him or hate him, take a moment to appreciate Tim Tebow.
You may fall into the faction that finds Tim Tebow annoying and saccharin sweet.
How dare he be great at football and be a model citizen? Who does he think he is winning a Heisman as a sophomore and donating his spring break to orphans in the Phillipines?
Let’s face it: He is terrible and boring at interviews. He is always “yes sir” and “no sir” when talking to analyists. He always give credit to God (blah) and his teammates (bleh). He thanks his coaches for their gameplan (ralph) and his linemen for their blocking (wretch). Some have even said that he is a bit of a “wad”.
Where are the arrest records? Where are the pictures of him being anything but a true gentleman?
Where is the drama?
Tebow has done nothing but maintain a 3.7 GPA while leading his team to a SEC title and a National Title game birth.
He already has a Heisman in his back pocket, and he has the balls to go for another? Seriously, who does this guy think he is?
He is Tim Tebow. He has never asked for acolades. He has never asked for praise, only given it to the man upstairs, his teammates and coaches.
Then he lost (technically, the team lost), and he issued a promise to play harder than any player in America.
Since that day he has led his team on an amazing ride. LED his team. The Gators haven’t lost a game since, and have been rolling in their victories. The SEC title against Alabama was the cake, Oklahoma will be the icing.
Last year, Tebow was the first sophomore to ever win the Heisman. He accounted for a boatload of TDs and yards, but failed to win a title.
This year, he may flip that outcome. His numbers are no longer gaudy, but he is leaps and bounds better as a leader of his team. Maybe that is what makes him so special.
He pleads with Urban Meyer to let him be on special teams, he gets in the face of LB Brandon Spikes to fire up the defense, and more than anything, he instills a belief in his teammates that he will NOT fail them.
More important than anything else, he has brought a title back to Gainesville, and has one more on the horizon. Win or lose against Oklahoma, he will probably be back again next year. He is living his childhood dream.
He is living the dream of every college football fan in America. Tebow grew up a Gator fan. He considered Alabama, but his heart wouldn’t let him go there. He had to don the orange and blue.
Do you remember when you were a kid and you used to toss the ball around in the back yard? Who were you tossing TDs for? For me, that pine tree was Neal Anderson. The oak tree was Cris Collinsworth. If I managed to hit the elm, it was a TD to Wes Chandler.
Tebow hit those same trees, along with trees named Reidel Anthony, Ike Hilliard, and Chris Doering.
Remember that kid who took the team’s every loss really, really hard? What if that guy grew into a 240 pound QB with a laser arm but didn’t lose an ounce of passion? That guy would be Tim Tebow.
Now imagine he played for your team.
Still hate him?
He is a once in a lifetime athlete that we should all celebrate, no matter what team you follow.

College football is better with guys like Tim Tebow. He is the gold standard when it comes to guys you want leading your team. He is a once-in-a-lifetime person/player. I do think he has a great supporting staff and a lot of weapons around him and I think his throwing mechanics are a little suspect, but both of those things are dwarfed by his heart, leadership, and pure grit. That is one tough dude, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
I think a lot of people hate on Tebow because guys like Danielson just don’t know when to STFU and just watch the guy work. Memo to Danielson and Herby…Tebow doesn’t need you drooling all over him, never asked you do so, and anyone with half a football brain, which isn’t saying much, can see this guy work and doesn’t need him to be compared to Fraizer in order to get it that he’s a great player.
Analyst and broadcasters just need to learn that sometimes it better to just be quiet and enjoy the magic – I think Blackledge does this better than anyone. He says just enough to draw your attention to something, but then lets the scene unfold before you.
There just isn’t a need to drool all over guys like Tebow.

Please read Mich-Placed Gator’s response to your painfully ignorant post repeatedly throughout the course of the day.
“Saban said he was proud of what his team accomplished this season, but was disappointed in the execution on Saturday and that the loss was more about his team’s errors and not the Gators’ play.”
That’s what I read on-line regarding Saban’s comments, fwiw.

Slightly off subject – but now that I have been able to fully relish the victory – I feel compelled to discuss the officiating.
I can forgive the non-calls (late hit out of bounds, holding, etc.) on the theory that the game should not be controlled/managed by the zebras.
But then…then…we get that idiotic stupid 5-yd. penalty (when the Gators were on the Ala. 1 yd. line) for sideline infraction….(called on Urban). it could have been a game-changer. Instead of a sure-fire TD, the Gators might have been forced to settle for a FG try. That could have changed the whole complexion of the game.
I still can’t believe that call.

Your beef is not with Florida, who is the SEC champion having just knocked off the previously #1 ranked team while missing our leading rusher (Rainey) and receiver (Harvin).
Your beef is with the Big 12 that allowed the BCS rankings to put OU into the Big 12 championship game.
It sucks, but that’s the atrocity of a system that we have and that your conference used to determine the representative of the Big 12 south.
Now go get your shinebox.

Dear Texas: (a/k/a the team that did NOT play for the Big XII Championship)
So, your school helped to create the playoff rules for the Big XII. Your school knew what the rules were when the season started. It was these same rules that allowed OU to play for the Championship of the Big XII instead of you. I guess renting that plane (with the banner) to fly over the OSU stadium didn’t help, huh? Don’t worry, your conference is going to “review” its procedures next year. Feel better now?
But I get it – it is somehow Florida’s fault…Texas which didn’t win its’ conference championship deserves to play for the National Championship instead of a team which (fairly) won its own division.
In the meantime…please feel free to stop by to see the Trophy in Gainesville (Florida).
Sincerely yours,

Josh:
1) No, the Big 12 is not “a better” conference than the SEC. It his 2 good teams – OK, TX, everybody else is mediocre to poor. For the most part it’s overrated.
2) No, TX’s loss was not to a better team than FL’s – hopefully they’ll play in the Cotton Bowl, until then, there’s not one iota of evidence to show that Ole Miss is better/worse than TTech. I think they’re better.
Personally I don’t think TX is better by any measure, but it doesn’t matter, TX didn’t make the cut. Now get your nose off our trophy case, you’re smudging the glass!

Don’t bring a knife to a gunfight: The http://www.bcsguru.com site now says Florida is a “near certainty” of making the BCS MNC game.
“GATORS CAN EXHALE NOW
With the release of the USA Today Coaches Poll, it’s become a near certainty that Florida will be in the BCS title game, against Oklahoma, whose place was never in doubt.
The latest poll, with the No. 2-ranked Gators earning 26 first-place votes, puts them 73 points ahead of No. 3 Texas. That was more than the 50-point lead that the Guru forecast the Gators would need. Since Florida was already No. 2 in the Harris poll last week and poised to assume the top ranking, its advantages in the human polls should be insurmountable for Texas to overcome.
More bad news for the Longhorns: Their chances for an AP title also appeared dead after the latest Associated Press Poll puts them No. 3, behind No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Oklahoma. Since these two teams will face each other in the BCS title game, there’s no conceivable scenario for Texas to vault to the top, even with a victory over Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl.”

‘Near certainty’? Yeah… that’s what I would want to go all in with considering the BCS’s proud history. I don’t care who gets in as my squad has been out of the discussion for weeks now but you just have to admire the BCS in all of its awesomeness. How the +1 scenario isn’t even getting a sniff is beyond me. Playoffs are, for the long term future, a pipe dream but a +1 could could easily be added without a lot of hassle.

Up 20-17 the team just went into 30-minute (real time) brain fart. This was not a high quality game by the O, D, or (especially) special teams.

Did you ever consider that perhaps that was as good as they could play? No game is mistake-free. Maybe, just maybe, UF’s red zone O is simply better than UA’s red zone D. And JPW played as he has the entire season. He was never going to win the game for you – surely you weren’t counting on that, were you?
Bama ran and ran and ran just as everyone said they would. Problem is, the slow, plodding drives burned the entire 3rd qtr. to get a 3 pt. lead. Too much running, not enough scoring.

MIch- just trying to give you some perspective which I know is hard for a Gator. The SEC was NOT good this year. It is why Bama went undefeated because the West was definitely NOT good. Look at the OOC record for the SEC. Bama has an average QB in an overall above average offense. Georgia, the third best team in the SEC and one of the best Os supposedly, couldn’t close out or outscore Georgia Tech. The best QB UF has faced all year long actually knifed through your secondary quite effectively until he decided to throw it right at the secondary instead of his own receivers. I haven’t seen Bradford make too many of those boneheaded throws, mainly because he doesn’t have to since he has a VERY GOOD OL and quite honestly one of the best receivers in the game in Iglesias. You can talk about the Big 12 having no defenses, but I think that is in part because their offenses this year have simply been unbelievable. Did you bother to watch any BIg 12 games throughout the season? OU’s D has seen equally productive O’s as UF. UF’s D hasn’t seen anything as efficient or balanced as OU’s O. Just my opinion, but I think UF is going to be shocked when everything that has been coming so easily this year suddenly isn’t coming so easily against OU. SEC teams freaked when UF started scoring and helped their own demise. OU didn’t look like it was freaking when it was going toe to toe with high flying opposing O’s all year round.
