ALL HAIL THE ALPHABETICAL

It's up over at the Sporting Blog, complete with the Mandom Man of the Week and the requisite pointing at laughing at people trying really hard. We put it together before we found JoePa's speech from Friday night, which is spectacular in a few ways. (CADDets: it's a bit long, so if you want the prime parts, just watch the last two minutes.)

Another stray note: we hope President-Elect Obama will consider Judge Rece Davis from the Bristol Appellate Court for the Supreme Court. His fairness and loyalty to the grandeur of logic make him a fine candidate for our nation's most august court. Should he decline, he should consider Justice Fowler of the Bristol Supreme Court, another soldier of jurisprudence capable of making fair and unswervingly reasonable judgments.

Cal Poly missed two PATs in regulation too, which was the only reason Wisconsin was in position to tie it up (with the lead 31-21 instead of 29-21, a TD+2 wouldn’t have been enough).

At what point do you decide “fuck it, our kicker blows, let’s just go for two every time”? Having your kicker at 50% so far through the game – and being in OT against a supposedly better team – seems like a good time to make that call.

I love that man.

Threatening to kill your players if they don’t win the game. Man, I thought Ohioans took their football seriously…

Can we please stop talking about the non-issue of Notre Dame students throwing snowballs at players? “Pelt” is a less accurate description than “lob at”, and it really wasn’t directed at the players. It was directed at the camera guy and the 10 policemen standing in front of the student section. I can’t imagine there was any malice involved, people were just bored. The game was boring until the end.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone was thinking “Oh man, I am so discontent with this team. You have a snowball? Here let me throw this at the team to voice my dissatisfaction! Yeah!”

@4 That would be a compelling argument, except for GERG!!!

Corporal Snowball Dept:

#4: I am pretty sure if “Dead Man Walking” Weis was any where near the student section, they would have tried to pelt, lob, throw, chuck, gyroball, blah blah blah, loaded snowballs in his direction…

…And if any hit him right between the snot and the spittle that would have been worth a standing ovation, even from the friars in the stands…

Oh..I thought Notre dame students were smart, well-behaved respectful types, not like the savages from Florida or Da U.

I think Joe Pa is cool in a way that never goes out of style.

[Name Redacted] has a soul brother down south : ‘“It’ll keep getting better and better,” Jones said.’ You had better hope it does, pal – there’s not a lot of room below 1-10, yes?

Man, Listening to JoePa talk makes me miss my Grandpaw…..and they can get pretty good velocity with that cane if they need too….what I would like to start is some sort of jousting sport between old folks with canes and their mobility scooters.Kinda like “Pinks” where the winner takes the losers scooter. With the scooter, Joe Pa dont need the cane, he can just cruise up and down the sideline like all the fat people and old people do at WalMart or Disney World. I understand old folks with the hip thing and knees/backs etc, but just fat ass lazy mofo’s using them for the sake of being fat and lazy just drives me fuckin crazy, I just want to push em off the damn scooter and tell em if they fuckin walked around more they wouldnt be so damn fat!
And Mandom…I was expecting a drunk Charles Bronson to leave the bar and after the doorman opened the car door, watch Bronson careen into a bridge and burst into flames, cause drinkin and drivin in the 70’s was cool as long as ya didnt hurt anyone but ya self. Why didnt Bronson just put all that Mandom in a 5 gallon bucket and just dump it on his head for Christ sakes?

#13: I was being ironic. The title of the post was “Corporal Snowball” based on the movie ’Full Metal Jacket". Corporal Snowball was named because he was not exactly….ah…..if I have to explain my jokes, then I guess my material is not that funny….

Joe Pa – still an ass………..

Snowballs? Rich Brooks thinks snowballs are bullshit.

When angry, only half-full stadium cups of Beam and Coke will express true fan discontent with suckiness.

Snowballs… Domers are so cute!

If anyone could hit Pear Bryant with a snowball from the stands, that would be an improvement over Little Throw Peep.
