Don't forget: when ACC teams lose to each other, it's because they're all bad. When SEC teams lose to each other, it's because they're all so good.

jackgt, I think you have missed the only two rules in the south regarding college football.

Rule #1 The ESSS EEE CEEE is OMG always the bestest football played evah!

Rule # 2 When presented with evidence to the contrary, see Rule # 1.

@9

You know full well what you can do with your silly computer ranking system. If you want to play college football games in a computer, go by an offerning from EA Sports.

@10

Now, the Reading for Comprehension portion of the postings: In my post I never stated that teh bone doesn't work or couldn't work today. As a matter of fact, I never stated my opinion on it at all. The only thing I did state was that I questioned the status of the acc. It is mediocre...at best.

Seeing stuff like that makes me almost - almost - wish Nebraska had gone after Paul Johnson instead of Bo Pelini. Almost.

That fullback run up the middle for 273849324 yards to put on that last touchdown was a thing of beauty.

The option has been dead for over 20 years. You can not win championships with it.

-Tommy Frazier

I can still see him bouncing off Florida defenders on his way to end zone when I close my eyes.

People who think the Option will never work in today's game should be summarily shot for their stupidity.

True, the defenses of today are faster, on average.

However, since GT ran all over Miami, FSU, and Clemson, 3 of the 4 fastest defenses in the ACC (and Miami/FSU are faster than nearly all in the country), i think the whole "speed argument" against it is pretty fucking stupid.

The truth is that given the right coach, any offense works. If you cant coach your defense to play assignments and tackle well, it doesnt mean shit how much speed you have.

Once Paul Johnson gets his RBs and OLs in there, that offense will be scary good.

I just want to take a moment to point at that, at the Tech game last night, I observed that the idea that there are no hot chicks at Tech is a myth.

There just aren't as many. But, what they lack in numbers, they make up for in Asian and Indian sorority girls...and I think that evens things out.

And just what, exactly, has the acc done this year to warrant ‘Major Conference’ status?

I’m more interested in seeing how the option works a couple years down the road. Obviously we might expect the offense to get better as Johnson gets players even more suited to the system, but on the other hand, this is also the first time these defenses are seeing an option game.

My guess is defenses will also start to come up with some answers with a full seasons worth of tape to look at and having actually played against it.
