I said last week on the leave your thoughts on how we get back at the dawgs thread that Tebow would keep throwing late in a blowout. check. as far as the timeouts are concerned, i thought it was a very obvious but not so outrageously dick way to get back at UGA. If Meyer wouldve thrown after any of the timeouts then I could see where the pups would be mad, but it just delayed the end for an additional 2-3 minutes. The part i thought was the best, which only a few dozen non family Georgia fans were still on hand for (thats got to be what that one still full section was) was when UGA finally scored a TD and got the full standing ovation from the still full Florida stands. Priceless. And guys, get over the “we’re classy, you’re not” arguments. Everyone from the SEC is the exact same way: totally class-less in victory (we don’t just kill you but desecrate your bodies too) and full of excuses and BS and disappear in like 15 minutes from the scene of the crime when we lose. (and im obviously not talking about everyone, just the vast majority)

Simple.

The first TO was the “SIT” command.
The second TO was the “STAY” command.

Meyer didn’t need a third TO for the “ROLL OVER & PLAY DEAD” command, since your players took the initiative and did that all on their own.

@85 Right you are, looks like Tebow left the game after the Harvin TD reception at 11:36 to go.

The Locker connection was more a comment on the BS line the refs tried to take after that UW game (”Not a judgment call”) than a comment on TT’s antics. I’ve seen barely a TD per game, since, that shouldn’t have drawn a flag, assuming the ref’s hands are so tied…

@84 Brantley played almost the entire 4th quarter. He came in with ten and half minutes to play, and was on the field during Tebow’s celebration on the sidelines during the timeouts. Yes, Tebow could have been penalized for running down the sidelines and celebrating, and I could not have cared less if he had been.

Re: Tebow’s antics during the final time outs: Jake Locker is wondering why that wasn’t “any delayed, excessive, prolonged or choreographed act by which a player (or players) attempts to focus attention upon himself (or themselves).” Someone told him there was no judicial discretion available to the stripes in calls of that type, and a flag just had to be thrown.

From the stands, I couldn’t tell who started the final drive under center for the Gators (Tebow’s 15, the backup is 12, right? The announcement of a new QB wasn’t made until a couple plays after the change of possession.) Meyer’s entitled to call his allotted TOs, but I question the prudence of leaving Elder Heisman in there, which he appeared to do. Someday, Martinez’s testicles might suddenly descend, compelling him to put 8 men in the box, and give Meyer reason to reconsider that decision, especially since (as stated above) Gator fans were clamoring for the deep ball. Of course, one would think that particular egg-drop, if possible, would have occurred before now…

ZZ – Spikes was just telling him about the 188 push ups during the summer, 1 for each of the yards Knowshon gained the year before, with a little demonstration.

You guys got the victory and get the 364 days of gloating.

The one thing I will say, Spikes really should be playing for tha ‘U’ with the attitude.

Those two timeouts were Meyer’s big “fuck you” to Mark Richt over the celebration. And I not only supported it, I fucking loved it. I only wish he’d passed the ball deep after those timeouts. Arp, indeed.

Classy talk aside, how do you support Meyer calling 2 TO’s with 40 seconds left in a 49-10 game?

Most UF fans I’ve talked to were a little sick about it, just like many UGA fans re: “the celebration” from last year (this fan included).

For the ones that support and defend it, I can’t even begin to see how.

I said at the beginning of the season how nice it will be to watch the flailing descent of UGA in the polls. But even I underestimated the pleasure it brings. And guess what? you got another loss coming.

I’m glad that extra motivation thing works for Florida. It never has for Georgia. For us, extra motivation always seems to equate to certain future embarrassment. Thanks a lot, Old Testament God. I thought you were off on Saturdays.

The dawgs weren’t complaining about it when they were beating our asses way back when, were they? Did we whine about it? Nope!

The WLOCP is one of the greatest traditions in college football. Don’t mess it up. You’re gonna lose up there too.

I wouldn’t be calling for home and away even if the Gators had been owned for longer than the players have been alive. Really!

Quit your whining – all you have to do is win, and stop making excuses for why you suck so much.
