Probably the best (and most ironic) part of the day for me: a UGA friend of mine responding to a text message sent to him (at the game) about UGA fans leaving early (late third quarter). He immediately played the “classless in victory” card when referring to UF, fans, etc. Really? REALLY?!

I’m grateful for the victory- a whole lot of Dawgs here at SC law…would’ve made life tough for this born-and-raised Gator. Also, Brandon Spikes has shown the acting chops to merit roles in low-budget horror films

Oh, how I wanted to log on to this site next week after a Georgia victory. Instead, it felt like a bad Ray Goff/Steve Spurrier mismatch, and now I wonder what the psychological effects of this beatdown will be for the Dawgs. Would have been nice to have won, but I’m used to them losing to Florida.
Congrats to all the Gator fans here.

Normally I despise running up the score on a beaten, hapless opponent, but after Evil Richt’s stunt last year at the WLOCO, it was merited.
Damn, the Gators put UGA’s collective mouth on the curb and stomped. Hard.

The new banner both surprised me and made me burst out laughing at the same time, to the annoyance of my monitor, which now has had coffee spit upon it.
As much as he hates the Dawgs, I imagine the OBC was much amused at seeing the kind of beat down he always liked to delivered to the cocktail party.

I was on the phone with my father (also a UF grad) at the end of the game yesterday, enjoying the absolute deliciousness of dismantling the Dawgs. He went through some harder years than I during this series.
He asked me what I thought about the game after Meyer called his first timeout with less than a minute to go. I said I hope Florida passes the ball deep after this timeout is over. He laughed, and said “me too”.
The hate is back. GO GATORS!!!!!!

Great Banner Orson!
I spent the first half waiting for the Dawgs to explode, waiting for the deep pass that never came, for the big run that never happened. I thought we would win, just never expected a beatdown like that!!
The best part was that everyone (and kudos to the Dawgs here) kept their shit in check and there was no real ugliness despite the score.

“An asswhipping that regal and complete is its own reward. This may be the best single demolition we’ve watched there since Tennessee ‘95. It was that satisfying.” -Orson Swindle on UF-LSU
I would like to adopt that as my own thoughts about yesterday’s cocktail party. 2008 LSU, 2007 FSU, 2005 FSU, nor 2007 Tennessee were as satisfying as that. That was two hours of cautious optimism and two more hours of satiated bloodlust.
Oh the blood. The delicious delicious blood.

For those who missed it, that’s an actual quote from the Dawg’s last loss–I forget who said it, but one of the announcers during the Alabama game uttered on live television something like, “This is an old-fashioned country butt-kicking, and Georgia is supplying the butt.”

From a power poll perspective, I’m not so sure I wouldn’t disagree with putting Florida at #1. Playing on a neutral field, I’d pick them over anyone in the country. They don’t deserve to be number 1 because of the loss to Ole Miss, but they might be the most talented team in the country.

At the time out with 30 seconds left in the game, the Sunsports camera captures Richt. It appears someone points out the Sunsports camera, he looks at it, then does the classic nose-scratch bird. He had to know it was a Gator broadcast camera and he had a bit of a smirk afterwards. Series of pictures below, but it appears even more obvious in real time, so you can see it on the Sunsports broadcast of the game during that final time out.

good win for the gators. i hope you guys climb to # 1 somehow (meaning w/o BAMA dropping a game to miss st. cause the tigers are both getting ass rapped) before the Dec 5 showdown in Atlanta. If i remember the last SECCG against ya’ll, we had a better record, (even a head to head win over ya’ll) but EVERYONE was saying, “well the gators look like the best team in the country right now” and we promptly beat the fucking shit out of you. not a thrid and fourth quarter turnover induced score running up type beat down, more of a 30+ points before allowing the other team two consecutive first downs type beat down. kinda like the 31-0 at HALFTIME beatdown we laid on the dogs this year. you know the same team ya’ll were struggling against, the same one that drove the length of the field on you three times int he first half, only to cost ITSELF the points your D was oh so willing to surrender.
i cant fucking wait. the national title game is december 5 in atlanta, and BAMA is going to win it by 13 points or more. i hope they send florida to the rose or orange bowl though, cause USC and the big 12 champ both deserve beatdowns and i have plenty of confidence that florida will supply it.

Amazing how quickly the mullet hubris returns once their team starts winning again. You still have to play LSU and Auburn.
Here’s a scary thought: Laying an egg at home against one of the worst Auburn teams in recent memory. Auburn has nothing to lose and Bama has everything to lose. I know that thought scares the hell out of Bama fans.
