Probably the best (and most ironic) part of the day for me: a UGA friend of mine responding to a text message sent to him (at the game) about UGA fans leaving early (late third quarter). He immediately played the “classless in victory” card when referring to UF, fans, etc. Really? REALLY?!

I’m grateful for the victory- a whole lot of Dawgs here at SC law…would’ve made life tough for this born-and-raised Gator. Also, Brandon Spikes has shown the acting chops to merit roles in low-budget horror films

Oh, how I wanted to log on to this site next week after a Georgia victory. Instead, it felt like a bad Ray Goff/Steve Spurrier mismatch, and now I wonder what the psychological effects of this beatdown will be for the Dawgs. Would have been nice to have won, but I’m used to them losing to Florida.
Congrats to all the Gator fans here.

good win for the gators. i hope you guys climb to # 1 somehow (meaning w/o BAMA dropping a game to miss st. cause the tigers are both getting ass rapped) before the Dec 5 showdown in Atlanta. If i remember the last SECCG against ya’ll, we had a better record, (even a head to head win over ya’ll) but EVERYONE was saying, “well the gators look like the best team in the country right now” and we promptly beat the fucking shit out of you. not a thrid and fourth quarter turnover induced score running up type beat down, more of a 30+ points before allowing the other team two consecutive first downs type beat down. kinda like the 31-0 at HALFTIME beatdown we laid on the dogs this year. you know the same team ya’ll were struggling against, the same one that drove the length of the field on you three times int he first half, only to cost ITSELF the points your D was oh so willing to surrender.
i cant fucking wait. the national title game is december 5 in atlanta, and BAMA is going to win it by 13 points or more. i hope they send florida to the rose or orange bowl though, cause USC and the big 12 champ both deserve beatdowns and i have plenty of confidence that florida will supply it.

OVN & Dawgs,
As an LSU fan having been the recipient of two sodomies myself recently, I figured there had to be some loser to gloat over. I was pulling for GA but bet on Meyer/Tebow. Some remedy, my ass still hurts!
As to winning classy, there is no such thing in a blood game, nor should there be. If you don’t like it eating shit for a year, don’t play. Into my 6th decade as a Tiger fan and over the years, like any program, there have been so many BIG plays that making a top 5 list is almost impossible. But during scotch induced fogs, I can always fondly recall the mid 80’s in what used to be a blood game w/ Tulane, Coach Arnsparger lines up for a late game field goal with a huge lead over a beaten Tulane and promptly fakes to throw a galling TD pass. Of course the benches cleared as fights broke out all over Tiger Stadium. My point being, there are big plays and FAVORITE plays.
I’m pretty sure the Celebration and the time outs this year will only add to the memories when you’ve already forgotten the actual score.
p.s. GA will never be competitive as long as that series continues in JAX (just like BAMA-Auburn playing in Birmingham years ago)

Re: Tebow’s antics during the final time outs: Jake Locker is wondering why that wasn’t “any delayed, excessive, prolonged or choreographed act by which a player (or players) attempts to focus attention upon himself (or themselves).” Someone told him there was no judicial discretion available to the stripes in calls of that type, and a flag just had to be thrown.
From the stands, I couldn’t tell who started the final drive under center for the Gators (Tebow’s 15, the backup is 12, right? The announcement of a new QB wasn’t made until a couple plays after the change of possession.) Meyer’s entitled to call his allotted TOs, but I question the prudence of leaving Elder Heisman in there, which he appeared to do. Someday, Martinez’s testicles might suddenly descend, compelling him to put 8 men in the box, and give Meyer reason to reconsider that decision, especially since (as stated above) Gator fans were clamoring for the deep ball. Of course, one would think that particular egg-drop, if possible, would have occurred before now…

@85 Right you are, looks like Tebow left the game after the Harvin TD reception at 11:36 to go.
The Locker connection was more a comment on the BS line the refs tried to take after that UW game (”Not a judgment call”) than a comment on TT’s antics. I’ve seen barely a TD per game, since, that shouldn’t have drawn a flag, assuming the ref’s hands are so tied…

Simple.
The first TO was the “SIT” command.
The second TO was the “STAY” command.
Meyer didn’t need a third TO for the “ROLL OVER & PLAY DEAD” command, since your players took the initiative and did that all on their own.

@57, his argument sucks, because it ignores the inconvenient presence of Oregon State on both Penn State and USC’s schedules.

Ouch. That comment reminds me of Tombstone, when Wyatt and Virgil Earp are leaving town with their dead brother in tow, and Johnny Ringo says, “smells like somebody died.”
Just ouch.

I said last week on the leave your thoughts on how we get back at the dawgs thread that Tebow would keep throwing late in a blowout. check. as far as the timeouts are concerned, i thought it was a very obvious but not so outrageously dick way to get back at UGA. If Meyer wouldve thrown after any of the timeouts then I could see where the pups would be mad, but it just delayed the end for an additional 2-3 minutes. The part i thought was the best, which only a few dozen non family Georgia fans were still on hand for (thats got to be what that one still full section was) was when UGA finally scored a TD and got the full standing ovation from the still full Florida stands. Priceless. And guys, get over the “we’re classy, you’re not” arguments. Everyone from the SEC is the exact same way: totally class-less in victory (we don’t just kill you but desecrate your bodies too) and full of excuses and BS and disappear in like 15 minutes from the scene of the crime when we lose. (and im obviously not talking about everyone, just the vast majority)
