BOBBY PETRINO: MANHUNTER
From the AJC.com website, 10/28/08:
What does it say about Bobby Petrino that when we read this for the first time, we thought he actually subdued and kidnapped a recruit with a tranq dart and a large, padlocked canvas sack?

I heard that Russ Campbell (Bobby Petrino’s agent) was spotted in Knoxville. UT fans rejoice!

Somebody’s been picking up recruiting tips from the Coach O.

When I hear the word “nabbed” I think of someone getting yanked up by their collar after running from the cops.
I think Petrino would be a “hands on” man who would walk up behind a recruit and stuff a rag full of Chloroform over his mouth and nose, then drag him to the trunk of the car….

With him you don’t even jump to that conclusion… just lean forward imperceptibly and you are there.
Don’t forget the U-Haul getaway vehicle… he has a motherfuckin’ Hertz club gold membership with that organization. Outlets began springing up all over Arkansas before he finished calling the hogs.

O-
Given your disdain for Petrino (of which this post isn’t the best example), I’m starting to suspect that you care about the Falcons. Is that even possible?

Now just where in the Hell do you boners think he’s going to be able to go?
NFL? – Yea, right, burned that bridge with Napalm.
SEC ?
Tennessee?-If you even have a slight chance of believing that Bullshit, you’re the one with pumkin guts for brains.
BCS Contender ?- Who with money is even going to consider that one especially since it would probably take more money than whatever they are paying to whoever is presently screwing up to get him.
Point is as much as everyone thinks that Petrino is a no good, mouth breathin’, booger eatin’ lian som bitch,
I say , “FUCK YOU”
we’re taking our lumps this year knowing that better days are ahead and with commitments like this, sooner than later.

Here, let me screen cap Rzbker1974’s post and save it for posterity.

Commitments like this??
Sounds like he was in high demand…
Its very exciting, the 5-foot-11, 214-pound Brown said. I never really thought of being an Arkansas Razorback, but they gave me a full ride. "

He’s building a pretty solid class. SEC needs to look out for the next couple of years once he rebuilds the Razorbacks.

Nothing wrong with eating your boogers. Breathing through your mouth though, THATS where I draw the line.

OC_45-
I’m definitely not a homer, I had some pretty bad things to say about Arkansas recruiting while the Nuttster was here (see Ole Miss recruiting’s ranking at present), but the Brown kid is the 6th ranked HB in the nation. If you do any sort of research on the kid you will see interest in him has picked up and there’s a few schools that were expected to offer. Anyone that keeps up with recruiting knows that HBs are typically not a glamorous picks and beyond the top 2 or 3 most are usually 3 and 2 stars that play on the DIV I level. He is a punishing blocker (watch his tape) and will be a good one to have at the goal line. We are desperately in need of a goal line back. Also, reading some other articles and listening to him speak to reporters, he is not the most articulate guy. So, I think you’re reaching here with your quote. Think D-Mac, he wasn’t really the world’s best public speaker, but I hear through the grapevine he was a pretty decent college running back. I’m glad to get Brown. He is an extremely high ranked 3 star and pushed us to 13 in the rivals recruiting rankings from 15. Will we stay there? I’m not sure, I am pretty confident we will end the season with a top 20 recruiting class. Again, looking back at our previous staff this is a pretty big feat, our best under Nutt was the class that included Mustain and D. Williams, both now at USC. We all saw how that one worked out. But, hey, if you dislike Petrino, that’s fine too. We all have our coaches we like and dislike. I had to deal with the one I disliked coaching my own team for 10 years. It’s much nicer to dislike from a far. I apologize for replying to a short, bitter comment in a logical fashion and without too much 8th grade humor. I’ll save that for a time I don’t have facts to back me up.

Woo.pig.suey,
Well, it is a good thing that you have the facts. I mean, it would be foolish to enter a tongue-in-cheek dialogue that centered on an unusual headline without first doing research on the player involved and watching game-film.
You have really hit on something important here. The vast majority or college football fans completely neglect the discipline of watching film of the recruits of mediocre teams. Instead, they waste there time laughing at Orson’s jokes, watching and reading about actual college football games, or worse, living productive lives involving work, family, and worship.
Perspective, people.
